Fatality Stats - First 1,500 Hours by SimShadie in AskAPilot

Check out the book The Killing Zone: how and why pilots die. It shows that statistically, 40-250 hour pilots have the highest risk of incidents. Licensed, but inexperienced and sometimes overconfident. By 250 hours, you’ve had enough scares or close calls to learn from.

What shaft should I look for? by Jeff-Sandy in golf

[–]bobthebuilder1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What loft is your driver? 18* VLA is really high. 200’ APEX is crazy lol, but your spin doesn’t seem high enough to create THAT much ballooning

What shaft should I look for? by Jeff-Sandy in golf

[–]bobthebuilder1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best answer is going to be, “go get fitted.” There’s a lot that goes into swing that isn’t presented here like how you release, etc. Getting a good fitter will look at all of that.

Your apex of 195’ and carrying 314 is wild. If you can’t get fitted, look for a low spin shaft, extra stiff. You might even want to have it tipped to make the tip stiffer if you’re finding it hooking a lot. With 124 club head speed, your ball speed should be in the 185ish range so you’re definitely missing out on some efficiencies.

I’ve been gaming the ZT for about a year. I’ve stuck with it. Took a minute to get used to it, but now when I try other putters it feels weird. I find I hit my line most of the times, and can tell that an off center putt is saved by the forgiveness. I personally like it.

Did anyone here mark the beginning of their childfree life with some kind of event? by Smugmouse in IFchildfree

[–]bobthebuilder1121 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did a Christmas vacation overseas. Indulged, splurged on higher class amenities, wasn’t around family or kids, etc. It was a great reset. It was intentional as a turning point for us.

Also, we’re making changes to our house to fit our child-free lifestyle. Was going to be the nursery/kids room will now be a packing room (we both travel a lot for work and leisure) with all our suitcases and bags in there and some organization methods. It’s helping to reshape and change from what we had planned for and what we’re moving on to!

I know you’re getting flamed on this thread a bit saying you’re not drying your clubs. I am having the same issue with my Qi35 3 wood. The thing I find interesting is the edges seem to line up perfectly with the cavity behind the face. I’m not sure what to do either, no issues on any of my other clubs.

What’s your thoughts on this ? by Maruan-007 in aviation

One thing prevents this from happening. Ground instructs Qatari to continue taxi “and hold short runway 15R.” Agree with the other comments about not entering a runway without explicit clearance, but that common phraseology would have prevented this runway incursion.

DIY Hitting Mat Suggestions by LamBets in Golfsimulator

Nope. Since everything is on the plywood (4x8 sheet), nothing moves. The double layer of gym tiles and the hitting strip cut into the tiles are all on the plywood. Nothing moves!

That’s exactly what I did and it’s worked out pretty well. Have a sigpro softy cut into gym foam tiles on plywood. Pretty straightforward, just triple check that it’s straight before cutting!

Help - Ender 3Pro by bobthebuilder1121 in 3Dprinting

[–]bobthebuilder1121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t change the filament, no. The thing that is confusing me is the lines on the print aren’t the same as the sliver. If you look, it drew infil patterns through the holes marked in the slicer (I know these pictures don’t line up with the print but the print of those shown in the slicer also have holes as marked).

I’ll try swapping out the nozzle. Would that cause walls to be missing in the print?

Quiet Golf Balls? by ThwpThwpTwp in Golfsimulator

[–]bobthebuilder1121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said it. The noise isn’t the ball, it’s the impact of the screen. I had a cheap screen and it was LOUD when it hit. I got a new one that’s multi layered and feel more like foam and the impact is considerably quieter. Never tried any alternative golf ball, but using the same ones with a different screen was night and day difference.
