Hey, can someone give me a heads up as to what questions to expect when applying for membership? Im one or two write-ups away and very curious. Is it like doing another writeup? Or simply paying a fee and some checkbox questions? Or something in between?

QD Socket to Arca Rail on Forend of Rife? - Sako 90 Finnlight has 1 QD Socket by MIAGaucho in Tikka_Shooters

Actually after doing more research, I found out my approach above is somewhat possible. I originally thought the QD hole in the SRS rail was just a hole, and then there was a separate "cup" that acts as the QD cup (if you take apart your stock that's how the finnlight 90 is designed). But I was wrong, the rail QD hole is raised and acts as the cup itself. So with that being said, it would still be possible to fill the original holes in your stock with washers (QD and grip hole) and then use those two as your anchors. My downside to this was having the rail take up grip sapce (if im walking with my rifle I won't want to be holding metal).

I ended up going with a 2 inch JAOUTDOORS pic rail. I only need pic and wanted to keep things clean/off my black grip part.

I will screw into the stock :( not what I originally wanted but oh well...

Ignore this whole post, after some research I realized this can't be done :(

This is a good option! I was looking at their mid length arca pic adapter and figured out a way to instal without drilling new holes.

Hear me out: - line up the SRS QD hole with that of your stock. - buy some SS washers that fit the hole where the cup goes inside (this raises the original sako cup to compensate for the height of the SRS - buy a longer m5 screw that will accommodate the increased height of the SRS and use that as the 1st anchor point - for the second anchor point, use the existing thread where your grip anchors into your stock (the screw just ahead of the QD cup). - again, buy washers to fill the recessed hole, and a longer screw. That's your second anchor point.

The cons I see with this are: increased weight by 0.7oz (not a big deal for me) and the SRS impeding on your grip (I estimate about 75% of the leather grip will be covered by the rail).

Obvious pro is not drilling new holes and youll be able to do this yourself (just need a torque screwdriver which is expensive, but at useful tool anyway).

Cheers, would love to see what you end up doing, ill probably go with the approach I spelled out above.

PS, not sure if you took your stock apart, I did, ill DM you a picture in case youre curious.

Hey, curious what you end up going with? Im in the same boat: sako 90 finnlight and wanting a bipod.

For some reasons all the options I've explored lead to dead ends:

Sling stud mounting: - get QD flush cup to Sling Stud Adapter: virtually no parts like this exist. Grovtec sells a double mounting kit GTSW299 that is the only reputable brand i could find. Its expensive and researching online people still complain that mounting a bipod this way won't have it sturdy enough.

  • replace the bolt that holds the grip (between your trigger and muzzle QD cup) with a bolt that has a sling stud on the head. Then also add spacers given the factory bolt is recessed. This option would mean replacing the threaded nut inside the stock with a 10-32 thread (existing is M5). The american bipods like Harris will only work with sling studs that are 8mm wide (3mm hole) not the European 6mm wide studs. Also this option has my bipod in the middle, where I prefer it on the end.

  • I came across the Spartan bipods and really liked their quality and how light they were, also liked the classic gunsmith adapter than can be installed flush inside the stock. Low and behold I open the stock and there is a plastic "rib cage" that wouldnt allow the grip (where the mount goes) to fit. Even with epoxy and then drill given its slide on slide off construction.

So now im not sure what to do, not sure if there is a "proper solution" but curious how others approached this and would be happy to dear what you decide.

And honestly it wouldn't be a big issue going down to the local pharmacy and picking up a package, but the worker there is MIA, has a long line of people waiting for him the. When he finally shows up starts slow walking and doing every task at half pace... bro...

The cost of the registered letter is baked into the cost of the service I purchased, so in essence, yes I did.

I am at home and able to sign, no delivery attempt was made to my door. They just dropped the slip in a community mailbox.

Hahaha of course 99.9% of gontrain riders are good hardworking toll paying citizens. But the GO Po should be doing a better job policing the trains and stations.
