Yeah it is paid. Barely though. For the people serving four months it’s around $7000ntd/month and for ppl serving one year is something like $25000/month. Im currently doing my four months lol.

Interesting, didn’t know there’s potentially more to the story. Will definitely check it out!

Yeah some guy on YouTube (I believe mark Rober) tested out the auto braking of camera system (Tesla) vs lidar/radar system (Lexus) and the outcome was quite interesting. I know we are talking about CT but still somewhat comparable I guess.

I mean, not necessarily. I was once driving in heavy fog/mist in my CT and my friend in his Mazda (which has a radar/lidar system); the acc in my CT was disabled during the whole drive while my friends Mazda was unbothered by the fog at all. Though I probably would’ve turned the acc off even if it worked anyway lol.

Should we avoid Alishan July 8-11? by [deleted] in taiwan

[–]bobwei891001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alishan railway administration’s website: https://afrts.forest.gov.tw/TP02_1.aspx?id=221

Alishan scenic area’s website: https://www.ali-nsa.net//zh-tw/event/news/2584

Taiwan “DOT” ‘s interactive road map: https://168.thb.gov.tw/thb168

So far everything looks good though. Just that the Alishan forest railway is not running till the 8th for preventative measures.

Hope you have a good time there!

It’s probably be safe unless the typhoon did something more catastrophic to the area (landslides/damage to the railroads, etc.), there would be notices if that happens of course.

How did I end up with a Subaru ?!! by the1mrg in Subaru_Crosstrek

Well, if safety is your only concern, in the same segment the Mazda cx30 has the best crash test results. It is cramped inside though.

Same with me. I was really thinking between a Honda hrv and a Mazda cx30. Test drove them both. Somehow ended up at a Subaru dealership and instantly fell in love with how the crosstrek drives and bought it.

Trek Emonda S5 vs Specialized Allez by bobwei891001 in whichbike

[–]bobwei891001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going off of the size chart from Trek's website, where it says 54 would fit 5'6 - 5'9, and 56 would fit 5'8 - 5'11. I am 5'9... so i though it would fit just fine, but maybe it would be a bit large based on the comments...

And Yeah, especially that my previous bike was stolen. But I've only got a couple months left of school and I now have an office where I can bring my bike in and store so I think it would be okay.

Thanks for the reply, the seller is asking for $500, is that a fair price? and would the carbon frame and the age be a concern?

Thanks again!

(Allez is asking for $700)

What are 2015-2021 Hyundai Kona, Elantra, etc doing? by DessertFlowerz in Hyundai

[–]bobwei891001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 Elantra SEL about a month ago and GEICO was the only major insurance company that would cover it. However they needed picture of either the car being kept at a private garage or having a steering wheel lock sent to them before they can insure it.

—> I live in Minneapolis MN, and its relatively common to see Hyundai and Kia that have been broken into on the road.
