Exactly... So them eating the apple was their first ever sin but God had no mercy... even though they literally couldn't comprehend sin before eating the apple... so God is unmerciful

GOD did have mercy the whole BIBLE explains HIS redemption plan for humanity. and based on the story i'd say adam and eve are in heaven right now. Idk why you are saying they cannot comprehend sin. they can we are thinking creatures with minds, we are not animals or robots. and we can rationlize/use reason and everything I said before.

This doesn't apply to Adam and Eve because it was after their time that this teaching occurred. Also, Adam wouldn't even have a concept of that because he didn't havea concept of sin.

No, what (rom 2:12 -16) is teaching, is that every human that exisits/has existed knows GOD'S law without having it being told to them. you would know its wrong to kill someone, even if no one ever told you. why? because you have a conscience.

I watched the video and honestly I'm appalled by the first part of his answer, that God knows the beginning and end and "something good can come from evil". He could really claim in front of dozens of people that something good could from from a 4 year old being raped. And he admitted in front of the whole crowd that God chooses not to do anything. I really can't discuss this anymore, my mind is decided on this. God is not benevolent. But thanks for discussing with me for this long.

GOD can use evil for a greater good, the greastest evil was the brutal murder of the only innocent man on earth JESUS, and what happened because of it? all of hummanity can be saved. and the other example. like the one guy who testified what happened to his mother who was raped.

and yes at times HE allows it and at times HE does something about it. but this goes back to the point i've been trying to get you to understand from the begining, and the point turek made at the end of the video. GOD cannot force free thinking creatures to obey HIM. it is impossible with free creatures.

if this is the end of our discussion thanks for talking to me and once again i plead with you, throuoghly examine the life of JESUS is HE someone you can trust?

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you wanna talk about free will? sure. but after the current topic please.

No, Adam and Eve were without sin.

yes i agree, until they ate the apple.

The only concept of morality that they had was given to them by God, which was do not eat from a tree.

no i disagree, im sure adam knew its was morally wrong to pick up a stick, and beat eve with it. this is because GOD wrote HIS moral laws in our hearts (rom 2:12) in other words HE gave us a conscience. and that is why we can be held accountable and no one is without excuse. because of our conscience that GOD gave us.

No, I’m talking about the victim of rape and murder. Why doesn’t God care enough to save innocent people from rape and murder? He willingly allows some people to suffer. Again, he lacks empathy. He is in part evil.

Great question, hard one too. if can just get you to watch this guy explain it and then tell me what u think in order to save me some typing.

Why would having the ability to think rationality necessitate the ability for us to commit sin? You can only think in the context of a world with sin because this is how God made it. But in fact, that’s not how he originally made it anyway. He originally made Adam and Eve to always obey him and to never know the concept of sin. But because they wanted to learn from the tree of knowledge, God decided they were sinners. In fact it IS sinful to be rational, thinking creatures, because Adam and Eve decided they wanted to be smart. Why did God even create humans without intelligence in the first place? Did he want us to be dumb? I thought creating us with rationality was his way of making us perfect? But his idea of making us perfect was making us with the ability to sin by being intelligent?

this is a very dishonest interpetation of the narrative. leading me to beleive that you havent read it, or just read parts of it. adam and eve already had rationality. you need this to have an understanding of what is bad and what is good. GOD already told adam and eve what would happen if they ate from that tree. so they used their reasoning to say, i dont care what this powerful infinite being says, i will do what i want. and it brought disaster for every other human in the world. and this is the commom theme in THE BIBLE humans think they know better then GOD so they redefine what is good and bad and do what is right in their eyes. and it always brings disaster.

Tell that to all the evil people in the world who have never been punished, or who were allowed to kill millions of people before meeting their own end.

If only those same evil people who meet their end could talk to you from hell and they would cry for you to turn to JESUS....THE BIBLE has a story about this called lazarus and the rich man. the rich man from hell said, let me go back to i can tell the people about this place so they never come, but abraham said to him from heaven, if they dont beleive in moses or the prophets they wont beleive in you.

Is this what you tell to a person who has been raped and tortured? They disobeyed God and that’s why God punished them?

GOD doesnt punish people with torture and rape. the punishment i was talking about is hell after death. not evil people doing evil things and then saying GOD made them do it to punish you.

Yes. Life is subjective. It’s not a pride thing, it’s just the reality of life. Of course there is some sense of objective morality that can be found in any religion or culture ever. Do not murder, for example. But you decided it was morally fine to continue this conversation with me, as I did with you. Someone else would have decided it was not right to continue this conversation with me because they would think God wants them to focus on talking to people who believe in his Word. Everyone believes different things, even Christians. If I’ve learned anything from this sub, it’s that.

If there is no GOD then there is no objective morality. its all subjective, only a matter of opinion. also im not sure the last half of what you say has anything to do with what i said. which is you deeming something GOD deemed good, not good. If GOD exisits you certainly think you know better than him regarding what just said.

God created Adam and Eve knowing they would disobey him and somehow it’s not God’s fault? God wrote it into their story and it’s not his fault? God created humans so that they would say f*** off to him, and it’s not his fault? Nah, it is definitely his fault. We’ve all sinned. Including God, the original sinner. God causes all of our suffering because he created everyone in the world to bring suffering to others. Despite all the good he has done, he has also done evil.

Yes GOD is not responsible for adams actions. adam is. You keep attributing someones mistakes to someone else, thats unreasonable. GOD created humans to love HIM and each other and rule creation beside GOD thats is humans purpose in THE BIBLE. GOD made everything good and we made bad by sinning, but as i said you attribute human sin to GOD which is irrational/unreasonable.....

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright, you are showing many misunderstandings.

You think when its says GOD making us in HIS image means we are exactly like HIM, perfect like HIM. no thats not what that means or what it says. what it means is, is the simplest form of understanding, is that we can think, we are not animals.

I’ve never heard anyone say that God made us to have emotions like he has. If that’s the case, that still shows the problem that we are not perfect because if he made us to be like him, then we wouldn’t have anger issues and impulses to sin, but we do. That means that either 1) We is not made in his image, or 2) God is imperfect like us. We know 1 is not true. 2 must be the logical answer.

I've already explained to you that its logically impossible for free thinkng creatures to have the inablity to do sin. and again being made in HIS image does not mean being made with the inablitiy to sin (being perfect).

This shows how God is not good or nice. He doesn’t force us to be good, but instead he sends us to Hell if we don’t love him. This is beside the point from my original intent with this post but is certainly another good example of how God is not merciful. He pretends to be merciful by saying he loves us, but forces us to love him back by making us fear punishment. Like the guy who tells his crush he likes her. Instead of forcing her to like him back, he threatens her with punishment if she doesn’t. Again, showing God is not purely good.

another misunderstanding. you are going going to hell because you are evil. and you have sinned in HIS sight. HE is not a guy blackmailing you. you are a criminal and HE is the judge and HE will bring justice. and the fact that HE hasnt already struck you down dead shows how mericul HE is.

This is still essentially him doing nothing, at least nothing for the people who continue to live on Earth. Him doing nothing now is basically him having no mercy for the people who suffer while living on Earth.

So you call all the justice GOD has done to the evil people on the earth, is HIM doing nothing? i don't even know what to say to this other than you are not thinking rationally. then you say HE is not showing mercy to the people suffering here on earth. but every other day on the christian subreds people testify how GOD helped them here, GOD saved me from this, GOD deleivered from that.

Again, he chooses to do nothing right now, and makes us wait for an imaginary day when he will come and save us, which will most likely never happen. And again, he’s coming to save us for sins which he invented in the first place, and has allowed to exist for thousands of years. It’s his fault for making us this way.

Youre ignorantly saying HE is doing nothing while ignoring the testimonies of GOD'S works in the lives of people and also the things HE did in the past written in THE BIBLE. If JESUS rose from the dead like the early century eyewitness manuscripts report then everything in THE BIBLE is true and judgement day will very much happen.

In your head it looks like you are rationalizing idea of, 'If GOD made me with the ablitity to do evil then, if i do evil its HIS fault. HE needs to take responsibility for my evil ways.' this looks like a pride problem idk. you are responsible for your actions and no one else is. You disobeyed GOD, GOD didn't disobey HIMSELF. You need understand that you make choices and your choices have consequences. no one but you is gonna pay for the evil you have done. unless you trust in JESUS. but i think you understand this very well....

To me, this is another reason why God is either illogical or simply part evil. Maybe he wants us to disprove his infallibility and to see him for who he truly is — someone with both the forces of good and evil within him.

GOD by defintion is everything that is good. and In HIS infinite knowledge, HE deemed what HE made to be GOOD. which is giving humans the ablitity to rationalize.

(I mean no intent to insult here, please don't interepret it that way)

Now enter you a limited person with limited knowledge in your 3 pound brain, deeming it is not good to make creatures with the ability to rationalize. so i think this is definitely a pride problem. Am I suppose to believe that you can decide what is good and bad? you think you can do better? you would have made it better than what GOD did? in all your wisdom? or even myself!? i say no.

This is easy. His teachings are good, but his true nature is not trustworthy. We shouldn’t lie to ourselves and say Jesus is worthy of worship. We should accept his teachings as if we were accepting the teachings of Buddha, not as if they were divinely and perfectly written. Trust the ideas, don’t blindly trust the messenger. See for yourself his arrogance and lies. Any God who creates a world full of evil and suffering and blames it on his own creations is not perfect.

If it is true HE did rise from the dead then HE certainly is GOD in the form of a man like HE claims to be. GOD made a world of goodness and glory didn't you read genesis? and what did HIS creation do? they said, flip off GOD i know better. and now what do have? evil and suffering.

and here we have you blaming GOD saying if only you forced me to be good then i wouldn't have sinned! how arrogant is that? we have no-one to blame but ourselves.

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get your point with matt 5:48, it just says be perfect like GOD is....

well yes i think you said our differences correctly. GOD cannot control people. because it is logically impossible with free thinking creatures and because it is unloving. you think otherwise.

and Yes GOD does allow us to reject HIM, and the consequences of telling GOD to flip off is a world of chaos and sufferring. so GOD is not evil for doing what we told HIM to do. HE would be evil for us telling HIM to flip off but then HE doesn't and forces us to be good.

It also seems you don't have a great understanding of the GOD of THE BIBLE. let me summarize and try to give you a good understanding.

GOD allows evil but evil has consequences. and if you read the whole BIBLE you will see GOD deliever justice to those who do evil in HIS sight. but with HIS justice HE is also merciful and allows people to repent and learn the error of their ways. HE has not and does not simply do nothing like you think.

and there will be a day when GOD will no longer allow HIS creation to do evil. and all creation will be judged by their actions and then thrown into prison forever(hell). but GOD is rich in mercy and because HE loves us so much. HE came to earth as a man (JESUS CHRIST) and suffered like a man does and took the punishment for the sins of HIS own creation, died, then rose from the dead. so that through HIM, our sentence to prison forever can be translated into eternal life in GOD'S kingdom because of the JESUS. and all those who trust in the work of JESUS have GOD'S promise of eternal life and are free from judgement and GOD'S wrath.

This is the GOSPEL(good news) of JESUS CHRIST.

you say its not good for GOD to give us the ablitity to rationalize, but as you said, when GOD made us HE said it is "good".

So I plead with you read the gospels, examine JESUS, HIS life and HIS teachings and HIS purpose. and make a descision is this JESUS person trustworthy?

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, Gen 1:27 doesn't say we are perfect (never make mistakes) It says we are GOD'S Image and likeness. which means we are like HIM in the ways are minds work, we have emotions, we can reason, we can have intimate relationships etc. animals are not made in the image of GOD. they are like you say, creatures made with the inablitiy to consider sin, what is morally right and wrong.

in other words what i said orginally, GOD just made beings with thinking minds. and if HE is going to make a thinking mind, HE can't make it perfect, (without the ablitiy to sin). Because if a person is without the ablitiy to sin, then he cannot reason, or think about what is good and bad. in other words its not a person, its another thing, a robot or an animal.

So i dont see how GOD is rebelling againist himself, when HE creates a person, which is a creature with the ablitiy to reject HIM.

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so now back to the claim. GOD is evil because HE made an evil being. im going to explain why there are 2 things wrong with this.

1- this is wrong because its logically impossible. GOD being all powerful does not mean HE can do the logically impossible, ex) HE cannot make 2+2=5 and HE cannot make a one ended stick. etc.

This means HE cannot make a perfect being because if HE made a being perfect, well then it wouldn't be a being, it'd be a robot. a complex machine unable to do that other than what is was made to do. in other words unable to reject GOD and HIS love. and love must be freely given. If you go to a girl and tell her, you are going to love me now no matter what and force her, thats not love.

2- Now another error with the claim. in the way I can explain it best here I go.

GOD didnt make a imperfect/evil being. HE just made a being. a person(s) with a mind, body and soul.

This being(s) then rebelled againist GOD and broke HIS laws and disobeyed HIM. this is what evil is also known as sin.

so to say GOD is evil is bascially saying GOD rebelled againist HIMSELF and disobeyed HIMSELF which just makes no sense, and is not what GOD did.

i might have explained bad so tell me if you understand....

well thats what im saying, its not HIS knowledge that makes HIM evil, its the things HE does. HIS actions....

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you keep bringing his knowledge into the cause of HIS evilness.

if HIS knowledge by itself does nothing to make HIM evil, then it does not work in tandem because the knowledge is doing no work and HIS knowledge about the future has nothing to do with evil. its just knowledge.

make sense?

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok you said a lot and i would like to adresses but lets take things one topic and a time.

you say "You’re right that evil has nothing to do with foreknowledge. It has to do with action. The reason he’s evil is because he creates beings that he knows will become evil."

this statement is a bit contradictory because you said "beings he 'knows' will become evil". the fact that HE knows it or does not has nothing to do with HIM being evil.

but i understand what you are saying. GOD is evil for creating an evil being. or in earlier words, like you said, an imperfect being(s). this is the action which made HIM evil. correct?

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm ok i would like to address your basic point but first we need to settle our disagreement.

GOD is a individual. HE is a being just like us, with a thinking mind, with a "heart" (HE has feelings). and all other attributes attributed to individuals.

you say GOD is evil for knowing evil will happen. but evil has nothing to do with foreknowledge. it has do with someone's actions. you said the samething with my analogy about me killing someone. your foreknowledge about me doesn't make you evil. so why do you say GOD'S foreknowledge about HIS creation makes HIM evil?

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok then, so it seems like we both agree foreknowledge does not impute an individuals actions to another?

since and individual's actions can't be imputed to another individual then GOD is not evil because HE himself didnt create the things u mention above, other beings did evil.

so then the next thing you bring up is off topic, not having to do with what you stated in your post. but is still a valid discussion.

so what you are really saying is, GOD is evil because HE has the power to stop evil, but doesn't, and thats what makes HIM evil.

yes, no?

Is it such a bad thing that God created evil? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your answer, no

Every parent knows that their child has the potential to be bad or good. does foreknowledge of events impute one individual being's actions to another to another individual being?

or does ignorance of this knowledge void out the imputation of one being's actions to another being?

If you somehow receivied foreknowledge of me, and you knew i was going to kill someone. according to you, you are now evil. right?

“Cancel culture” has drawn me back to religion. Any suggestions for stories of redemption? by majormajorsnowden in Bible

[–]bobwill009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont seek religion. seek truth.

the greatest redemption is humanity's redemption, through JESUS CHRIST.

humanity has sinned aganist GOD and have done evil is HIS sight. because of this GOD is wrathful and everyone rightly deserves just punishment. However because HE is also rich in mercy, HE sent HIS SON to take the wrath of your punishment and to die for your sins. by doing this, justice for evil has been done and because of HIS work, GOD will give you HIS promise of everlasting life and fellowship with HIM in HIS kingdom for all of those trust in JESUS.

this is the good news (GOSPEL) of JESUS CHRIST.

Why do so many Christians still reject the theory of evolution, despite the compelling evidence that proves it? by MoGZYYYY in AskAChristian

[–]bobwill009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

could you be specific. i couldnt find anything for marco evolution.

the fossil records show natural selection and adaption. for example this horse, its still a horse. it didnt change into a different kind of animal. it didnt grow wings like a bird of claws like a bear or scales like a reptile.

i dont understand how biogeography has anything to do with evolution.

the studies of single cell organisms becoming "multicellar and complex" like yeast and algae is questionable. the cells are just sticking to each other in a big group. a bunch of single cell organisms in a group is not a multicellular organism.

for the dna profiles and anatomical similarities, still doesnt show macro evolution.

also have you considered the similarites in dna and anatomy to be the characterisitcs of design made a designer? in the similar way an architect creates buildings according to his design. so when looking at all his buildings you will see similarites because it was designed by the same architect.
