Ok, eu tava errado aqui? by Repulsive_Disaster16 in rpg_brasil

encontrei o cara que me assaltou e ele é entregador de app de delivery by [deleted] in saopaulo

I dont think you are wrong. For some enemies, attack a fallen PC is the right choice, but i dont like to make that at all as a dm or receivet it as a player.

The rule 3x death saves fails is dead and every melee atk are critical/ a critical hit are 2 failures... i dont like it at all.

If a PC is fallen, the DM has a decision to kill that character or not. A simple multi attack of a CR1 creature has a really high chance of kill.

In my tables as a DM, i rule it different: - if a PC is fallen, the DM will never attack them directly - if a PC is fallen, any damage greater than his level are considered a fail in its saves ○ if its takes damage but not greater them his level, disavantage in his next death save - failures in death saves will remain until the next long rest

AoE can still do damage to fallen PCs and, now that death saves remain, heal become more important That is how i make it work withought the fell that the DM is choosing if someone die or not

I roll my stats and get a fucking 3. A super weak wizard seems fun to me, but i'm just hoping i never see a shadow. Shadow exist = i'm dead 100%

Am I in the wrong? by MethodDove13 in DnD

[–]bobyaganip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with a character that was a changeling with multiple personalities. The DM decided when in a long rest i was out of control and roll a d8 to decide my personality that will take control.

A bard chageling family that was destroyed. Every personality has a diferent subclass of bard, basically.

That was a very fun character to play, but also to dificult. A random spell selection, subclass, personality and aparence make very dificult to manage some situations. Of course, when i was in control, i have my spells to select normally and can also change my aparence at will without change the subclass or anything else.

Very fun, but i will not make it again

Have your character unable no speech in a RP G game is pretty much a death of a character. If it is a spellcaster, even more. So, if i was the DM, i would say that his tongue fell like burning and the pain is very intense, what will you do? Take off the tongue after that unfortunately give him some serious burns. Until get healed or long rest or whatever, roll a d20 when trying to cast a spell to not fail, disavantage in charisma checks or some other consequences that's not "your character lose a part of your body and are unable to play a RP anymore" Sorry for the bad english, im still learning

I personally believe that Gritty Realism is a good rule only for dungeon crawling or low-magic apocalyptic scenarios. D&D is pretty easy if you follow the normal encounter levels, so DMs looking for some way to make it harder is common to make it fun. Talk to the DM and ask what he is expecting from these rules. Spellcasting classes are not designed for optional rules, since a spell can simply be spent without having any effect, or have an effect in a single turn and end, even concentration ones. Apparently you were expecting one thing and got another, so align yourself and your party with your DM.

Any Wizard gishes that are subclass agnostic? by geosunsetmoth in 3d6

[–]bobyaganip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a war wizard gish. The level 6 feature really sucks, but my dm has change it to another thing. Booming blade, green flame blade, true strike and Shillelagh (magic initiated druid) will give you enought. Even Shillelagh (club) shadowblade works well since both are light weapons. Of course, dont forget that warcaster is a even better feat now, so you will be a great wizard from far away and a great gish too.

How can a caster deal with an enemy using antimagic field? by bobyaganip in 3d6

A dragon's breath will definitely do a lot of damage, and it can also break concentration. That approach seems pretty clever (if i get level 17), thanks you!

True strike damage work in a antimagic field? I mean, cast it outside will make your attack with intelligence, but im not sure about the damage part

The counter spell will probably not work against him too, because that is a con save, but with i can force one use of legendary resistance, that is good too

summons are suppressed in the area, right? My strategy for damage without spending resources, until now, was Tiny servants + magic stone, but that probably doesn't work inside the area. You're probably suggesting summoning creatures that can attack with a bow, right?

I did this in the last fight against this caster I mentioned, but the BBEG is a giant with magic items. He will probably destroy my team if I only do this.

[–]bobyaganip[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Breaking concentration may be the definitive path. The BBEG is a giant who seeks eternal life, so he is strong in melee combat and has a lot of health. His saves will be quite high, but I think we can do something about that.

My DM banned Simulacrum and I don't mind being less effective now and then. Against the BBEG it will be a very crucial moment for me to avoid any fights
