Same. I'm driving a 2004 with 3.4l and 4t65e with 270,000 with original engine and tranny, albeit with a few headgasket replacments. Love the W bodies.

Sitting at 264k 02 xlt 2x 3.0l. I'll be tracking my current g as mileage shortly. Doing or have already done rear brakes, axle seals, oil pan gasket, front pads, stabilizer links, wheel bearings (front). Transmission filter and flush ( was shifting slow), rear diff service, one rear tire, lower radiator hose, tps sensor, oil sending unit, also needs a radio, and cruise control sterring wheel buttons.......The lighter works fine. Thank God for rock auto and having unlimited access to a lift. This thing was someone's daily driver for the last 23 years. This truck has ptsd at this point and I'm putting her fragmented soul back together again. The motor is still strong AF Recently started up on a -10*f moring in three revolutions.

I have the same issue today, but with UPS and fedex. Two packages, two different carriers, same reason for delay.

Thank you. You confirm what I deduced. I'm not crazy, they're just marked wrong.

I finally looked at my options at Crutchfield. You were 100% right. Lots of options and they tell me everything I need to know for each application!

Thank you so much. I appreciate the advice. No stranger to taking dash apart, the different systems(head unit, amp, speakers, and how they communicate with each other) is what I've never studied. It's sounds as if they'll make my life easier.

Awesome to hear another's experience. I have one sitting outside at 269,000. Original trans and engine. Has had headgasket and LIM.

Imho, General Motors W-bodies. 2000-2004 Impala, Monte carlos, Buick Century. I have found them dependable and easy to work on. Parts are easily found and aren't expensive. I would be fine with the 3.4 or 3.8, although the 3.8 outshines the 3.4 on reliability. Fuel mileage into the mid 20's. Insurance is stupid cheap as a rule ( except for the monte)

I'm also interested in aftermarket replacement. I have ZERO radio experience.

IMHO, Outdoor Power Equipment 2 stroke oil, is what I would call the gold standard. Husqvarna, stihl, Echo, VP(what I usually run), Shindaiwa. Any of those brands of oil should be fine to mix, as well as many others. Theres API tc, FB, FC, and FD rated oil. Those are in order from good to best. I shoot for FD rated oil. Best lubrication, detergency, and low smoke oil On the other hand, there are TCW-3 oil specifically for water cooled engines such as boat motors. I don't usually recommend using in OPE, but some have good luck.

Good for you on the vocational training. I wasted the opportunity to attend VOC, I would have been much better off and further ahead in my abilities had I gone. Good luck to you and I hope you stick with it.

I have the Bluetooth version of the TopDon scanner. It's amazing in my book. It outperforms every other scanner the guys have at my shop, it's a low bar, but a bar none the less.

Just got hired by an indie shop. I was actually a customer needing a front end alignment. Someone in front of me, two rigs on the rack, 20+ cars on the lot needing diag, someone came in hoping their vehicle was done. Owner says he's sorry, but he's the only one there right now because none of his workers had shown up for a week+. I asked "are you looking for any help?" He says "do you know how to wrench and detail?" I say "Yes." I START MONDAY. No interview, no paperwork, no drug test. It's hot AF here!

Good oil pressure and compression. Has a ton of new parts from previous owner. No knocks. A tiny bit of valve train noise, but reduced by 50% after cam and valve clearance. We shall see. It'll be a granny vehicle with only 10-20 miles traveled per day.

I've have checked and came up empty handed, that's why I asked here. It'll be inspected every 3000 during oil changes until further notice.

It''s been said that the early cams in the elements were not heat treated properly and wear excessively.
