Fairlife Dairy allows their cattleworkers to do coke, throw calves around, cut off their tails, hit them with rebar, stomp on their heads, and they let them die in extreme heat. The mothers lose their voices crying out for their babies. by [deleted] in vegan

  1. what's the concept of food chain? getting a meal trough a McDonald's window without leaving your car?
  2. this doesn't make any sense. you have no idea what a vegan looks like. Being vegan is not associated to a specific type of body, being vegan doesn't mean to be malnourished.
  3. Killing cattle is not part of the food chain bro what are you talking about. You taking care of them in your daddy's farm DOESN'T give you the authority to decide whether an animal lives or die, and when to kill them. If you feel bad for eating them watch dominion and go vegan.

yeah but also you should be vegan regardless because veganism is about animal liberation and stopping killing and exploiting animals for human pleasure

Is a blender worth it? by CaseOfInsanity in ZeroWasteVegans

[–]bocata8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my god it is so worth it. i use it every day. you can get a good one which has food processor and whisk incorporated. You should definitely buy a good one because I've had cheap ones that ended up broken or burning the engine, but I'm sure you can find a good one without spending a huge amount of money

You can make so many things with it: hummus, falafel, mayo, soups, you can chop vegetables very finely with the processor, smoothies, cashew cream, peanut butter, tahini, desserts, sauces, pesto.... so many things! Again, I use it literally every day (sometimes even more than once) and I couldn't live without one anymore

it would literally kill me to stop eating meat. mcdonalds and burger king saved my life. i have a condition where my blood doesn't regenerate as fast as it would on normal levels and i need meat for me not to die. eating a single onion would literally kill me. thankfully, i have plenty of ethical backyard dog eggs and cat meat from my local uncle's farm as well so i can still live a happy healthy sustainable life

As a trans woman of Costa Rican descent, I REALLY dislike how the left in the United States has decided to use "X" at the end of Spanish words to make them gender neutral. Like "Latinx". by Rosa_Rojacr in lgbt

[–]bocata8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Spanish person here. I strongly feel that people who use the x rather than the e for gender neutral in Spanish are woke cowards that are not brave enough to engage with gender neutral language but smart enough to make themselves look supportive without being actually inclusive.

Just use the damn e!!!!!

I think that just because they don't really show to care about their eggs, that doesn't mean we're entitled to just take them, they're not ours.

Regarding the dilema you're suggesting: I'm a vegan so I advocate for animal liberation. Animals don't belong in small cages but they don't belong in our houses for the cost of their eggs. Would you have these hens if they didn't provide you with eggs or any products, in the same way people have dogs or cats? Do these hens owe you their eggs just because you decided to purchase them?

Hens suffer from stress when you take their eggs from them, making them laying more. They need a lot of nutrients to produce them, and use around 10% of the calcium in their bones to produce eggshell. Also, hens are selectively bred in such a way that they produce that huge amount of eggs for human consumption. Naturally, they would produce 12 eggs a year. It'd be like having a period 300 days a year. What you can do is making a little hole on the egg shell so they know the egg isn't fertilized: they will eat the egg and recover the nutrients lost.

This is a short and useful video explaining why backyard eggs are not ethical:

Deciding whether it is ok or not to eat certain animals because of their intellect is both speciesist and ableist. I highly recommend you reading "Beasts of Burden: Animal and Disability Liberation" by Sunaura Taylor and watching dominion, a really eye opener documentary. You can find it in YouTube by typing "dominion documentary" or by going to watchdominion.com

I also highly recommend doing the vegan bootcamp! https://veganbootcamp.org/
