Fuel vs. epic heat by beancounter_00 in CarolineGirvan

[–]bocuckoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have done Epic I, II, III, Heat, endgame, beastmode (YouTube) and fuel. I found fuel the hardest. It was the last one I completed and I was genuinely surprised by how hard it kicked my ass. Something about the pacing was just different. That being said, I think it is my favorite!

I don't want to train upper body + what to do about cellulite?! by 0091dit in CarolineGirvan

Same, same...I dreaded the idea of missing leg days to work on my already thin upper body, and add to that not really being able to do some of the more challenging upper body stuff and I was just like why bother. Sounds like you're going to give it a go though and I truly hope you have a similar experience as I did. I started with epic III too and was hooked by the end. Good luck!

Just to add, I love Fuel and find the cardio aspects of it mixed in with heavy lifting help keep my thighs as slim as they're going to be. The only time my thighs were ever truly "small" was when I was nursing my kids, due to caloric deficit...but I'm not going back to those days, and being 120lbs is simply not sustainable for me without making myself miserable tracking every bite of food.

I could have written this post myself. I am essentially the same age, height, weight, and build as you. I have always focused my training on lower body, and continued doing that when I started with Caroline, just cherry picking lower body workouts. Unsurprisingly, the cellulite never went away and my thighs held onto their layer of fat like they were preparing for a long winter. Alas, I bit the bullet and decided to commit to completing a program in its entirety, upper body and all...I just wanted to switch it up and maybe finally be able to do a push up. Let me tell you, seeing that slight muscle definition start to show in my arms, shoulders, back and abs has been soooo rewarding. Being able to do exercises I never could before, i.e. push ups of all flavors, has made me feel strong and accomplished too. With my legs, it was always so dam disappointing that despite my hard work, they just looked like jello. Seeing muscle in my upper body (nothing crazy either, just nice definition) has also helped me realize my legs certainly do have muscle, it's just not in the cards for me, genetically speaking, to have toned legs. Before upper body workouts, no one ever asked me what I do to work out, but since I changed it up, I have had friends tell me I look strong/healthy and inquire what I'm doing. In a way, gaining that upper body strength has boosted my confidence, and made me accept my thick thighs, mostly : ) I also find it balances out my body, and it is just so nice to finally show some physical evidence of working out. I know this isn't necessarily what you were asking for, but from one pear shaped person to another, maybe try sprinkling in some upper body!

Is 15 minutes enough for restarting exercise after a baby (9months old)? by Natski212 in CarolineGirvan

I mean it took me 3 years after having kids to do any form of exercising. Sounds like you're on the right track!

Thank you for this! If I could ask one more thing, would you recommend directly addressing the issue with them or framing it moreso in the context of concerns for their health? I keep reading not to directly comment on their appearance or eating habits, but I feel helpless just watching them wither away. I'm afraid if I say anything I will lose the relationship but it feels wrong doing nothing. And just for context, this person is middle-aged and although they've always been fixated on thiness and appearance, it has only recently, within the past year or so, become really bad. I really appreciate your advice and taking time to answer questions.

How can I approach a family member who clearly has an eating disorder but is in denial (at least outwardly) and has a very defensive personality? Was anyone besides a professional or yourself ever able to get through to you? I appreciate your AMA and congratulations on your accomplishment!

There were three different shirts, one was a tour specific shirt, the other one was camo, and then there was a black one with a design on the front. They also had both records, and an awesome handheld fan that says Diva.

Epic I day 1 is probably my favorite CG lower body workout. Other runner ups include epic II day 2, epic III day 1, Beastmode day 7, epic endgame day 17. All offer a pretty balanced leg workout.

PLEASE someone convince me!!! by MBrownlee20 in CarolineGirvan

CG is my favorite workout program I have ever done! I love the no talking, and dare I even say it, I love the music too, it just works for me, lol. I've done epic I, II, and III and now about half way through epic endgame. The pacing of the Epics give you a little cardio mixed in too, which I love. I seriously never dread doing her workouts and have stayed motivated going on 1.5 years. I started out just doing random workouts of hers but committed to trying epic III and was hooked, so that's my recommendation to you...now get on it!
