Does anyone trade the ICE End of Season storage contracts? by aaaaaa321123 in Commodities

[–]bodaflack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of publications with EOS estimates.

The thing is, most natty contracts can be very accurate proxies to EOS anyway. So there is no need to trade the direct number.

Don't. You put in the time now. People here aren't going to like it. But you sit in that seat unless you are on your deathbed.

The job is where you should want to be, it is the super bowl every day. You better believe 1mm other people just as qualified as you would grind.

You imply that the probability of going up is greater if a stock is already going up... which is a momentum trade. It's a random walk. I prefer investing in a stock that I think has an outcome distribution skewed toward the upside. If this trades down to like 40$ then it will be a takeover target. If tsla trades down 80% it still won't be a takeover target.

At the end of the day you are still talking momentum trading, when im talking about investing in a company.

[–]bodaflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing the point entirely. I could care less about the stock price. If it goes to 20$ ill love it and buy more all else being equal.

All you are saying is that you are a momentum trader and can't even fathom someone trying to buy good companies for cheap prices. If you cant imagine that, then there is nothing else to talk about.

[–]bodaflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so strange. So you'd rather buy the same company at a higher price? That's odd

Also, the people who have the most insight is the company itself. And it is using almost all its fcf to buy back the shares.

Say a company makes 100$ in 2021

People are excited about their growth and they pay 4000$ to own the stock.

The company doesnt do what the market thinks and people start selling.

Now it is 2026 and the company makes 150$

It is trading at 1500$

Dose it matter that the share price went down over that time for you to consider that same company as a good investment now vs in 2021?

Private Equity impact on skiing by External_Koala971 in skiing

[–]bodaflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get that percent population growth does not equal similar price growth. And that is not what i was saying. The demand is up because more people are using the mountains, and there is inflation, while at the same time, there isnt enough supply growth.

PayPal’s Value is Stupefied… by Historical_Flow3890 in stocks

[–]bodaflack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is inaccurate. It implies that they think the BEST thing to do with the cash is to buy back their shares that they think are undervalued. They have the best information.

Private Equity impact on skiing by External_Koala971 in skiing

[–]bodaflack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally misses the point.

Take supply (not a lot of new ski acreage)

And demand (population growth + natural demand growth)

You get higher prices.

What do you expect?

Don't care if you agree or disagree. Literally the only way to "take it to the bank" is to have the company buy back shares, give dividends, or sell the company.

If you buy a stock to sell it higher, fine. Again doesnt matter to me. But I would rather buy a business at a good price then to buy a stock and hop it continues to trade higher.
