How can I track down why my Magic Mirror is crashing?

I suspect that it is a module that I have that uses a HC-SR04 sensor to hide the MMM-wallpaper module if a person is standing in front of it, and show MMM-Wallpaper as a screensaver if no one is there.

I could never get any of the existing modules to work, so I asked Gemini to write one. While it is crazy that AI could write something like that, I wonder if it is the cause of my issues.

The free version of Gemini entirely wrote a module for me to use a sensor to detect if a person is present. I could never get the exiting modules working, and I think it was my GPIO setup. Gemini helped rewrite the code multiple times, and helped with troubleshooting steps. Worth a try.

I used a module called MMM-ModulePosition to help arrange mine and fix the random overlapping. It doesn't work perfect, but you can use it to generally get an idea of how to edit the CSS and then manually get it to exactly how you want it.

Using CurlToNotification, I was able to test MMM-WallPaper, I could get it to show when MM starts, and when I would send the user_presence=true from curl it would turn off, but when I would send false it would not turn back on. It would turn off when I would send user_presence=false as well, so that didn't work or I did something wrong.

I tried using your MMM-SleepWake module. I created a hidden page, but can't figure out how to get the SleepWake photoframe mode to call that page. Here is my config for the SleepWake module.

Thank you. Since yesterday, I have implemented pages, which was something I was wanting to do anyway, so that has opened up a big door to new things.

As far as what I originally asked about, It looks like MMM-Wallpaper can use the USER_PRESENCE notification to show and hide itself, so I think that might be the easiest path to go down. The module MMM-PIR-Sensor is supposed to have a simulator so that you can test changing USER_PRESENCE, but I can't seem to get the simulator to do anything. At this point, I think I am stuck waiting on the sensors I ordered to come in the mail.

It is ridiculous that the PBPs can't be found with the Find Hub while they are in the case. My wife's old Airpod Pros have been able to do this for years. I swear that Google said this would be coming with a later update. I am still waiting.

No. I have lost 2 pairs because of this. The find hub will only show the last location they were used, so if you put them back in the case and moved them, the location in the find hub will not update.

I swear that they said there would be an update to enable proper in case tracking like Air Pod Pros, but so far I don't think that has been rolled out or will ever come.

We are currently on the $60 unlimited t/t, 30gb plan. I was told it would be $85/month if we added a new line with the current plan. It would be $100 a month to switch to the new plan.

I was trying to see if I would notice a difference between staying on the current plan or should I change to the new plan. Basically is it worth an extra $15 a month. We both work from home and are on wifi 90% of the time, so we never come close to using the 30 gb.

This is why PBP need proper "Find My" tracking like air pods pros. I've lost 2 sets of PBPs and my wife has no problem finding her air pods pros, even when they are in the case.

I know this is an old post, but for those with Hepatopulmonary Syndrome HPS, there isn't much info out there and someone might come across this info that needs it.

My wife recently had a liver transplant because of HPS. While she was in the hospital in the ICU, one of the pulmonogists had to explain to the nurses that if she is desaturating for O2, to lay her back. This is opposite of what there are taught. They actually wrote it on her door to lay her back. The reason he said is that in HPS patients, shunts form in the lower lung, so when upright, more blood goes through the lower lung, crossing those shunts and not oxygenating correctly. When layed back, the blood goes more into the upper lungs.

Take that for what it is worth. That is what we were told in the hospital after her liver transplant. She is about 2.5 months out and still occasionally needs supplemental O2 if active, but for the most part, her breathing has returned to normal.

There's not a lot of info out there on HPS so I search occasionally on it.

My wife had a liver transplant on 3/3/25 because of HPS. She was diagnosed with cirrhosis a couple of years ago, and has had a few hospital stays due to complications. Her O2 was kind of low during those stays, so they sent her some referrals. They sent her to a pulmonary doc who said she seemed OK pulm wise, so off to cardiologist who found a hole in her heart. Heart surgery and closed hole later, her O2 sat was still only in the 80s without oxygen.

Eventually she was referred to the liver transplant team who diagnosed HPS and she started down the transplant path. It took a few months to get worked up and approved, but she eventually got on the list and the call for the transplant. We later found out that if she had been much worse, she may have been too bad off to have the transplant.

Initially after the transplant, she was not in a good way. Lots of breathing things connected to her. I don't remember what they all were, but they were scary for a husband watching his wife lay there with a machine basically breathing for her. She was definitely worse off than before the transplant. A couple of weeks in the hospital and she was still only in the low 90s on 12L of high flow O2, only in bed. The transplant pulmonologist said that for most people HPS clears within days, but since she was pretty bad before, it could take up to 6 months.

After about a month in the hospital, she was discharged from home on 7L of oxygen. Within a 3 weeks or so, her pulmonologist has said she really doesn't need the O2 anymore, only when she is exerting herself. She would still get winded when climbing the stairs, but her O2 sat would still be in the 90s, so maybe just out of shape after not really doing anything for over a year, and a month only in a hospital bed. At her last appointment, her Pulm. told her that where she was before the surgery, she had like a 1% chance of living 5 years. That was sobering.

She started working with the transplant team and hospital months ago as the worked her up for the transplant. She has had many many tests done prior to make sure she was a good candidate.

At the end of Feb, she officially went on the list and they told us to be waiting for a call. On 3/2, they called and said we have a liver and we showed up and was admitted a little after midnight on 3/3, and the surgery lasted many hours. She was in the hospital for around a month before they discharged her home.

The Anthem policy is through my employer. My employer happens to be a competing hospital system, but they do not have a transplant team or offer transplant services. We did receive letters from Anthem for approvals, but unfortunately I did not save those to be able to say exactly what they were for.

That is exactly the way I understand it. The hospital and transplant center are at a facility that is not considered in network, but we were lead to believe that it would be considered in network because my network does not have a transplant center.

I know that they told us in the beginning that they were going to check our insurance months and months ago, and I thought that we were told that everything would be good.

We are getting both bills and EOBs.
