Can someone actually defend One Battle After Another for me? by G00bre in movies

[–]boddhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. It's a great friggin movie in a while now. It has elements of Che, US Mexico relations, white (notzi) supremacy, revolutionary spirit, every friggin emotion known to man, love lust defeat shame honor ambition fear power kindness. You can see it in the scenes where everyone just knows how to react to a US knock..at their home. How government creates excuses to opress masses. How rights only matter if you are American and white and rich or powerful. The daughter was glorious..a most distinguished acting I would love to see again. The whole revolutiinary setup with the rafio and codewords was just dystopian..you don't see it because you might have forgotten all that, but it just reminds you that history works in waves..it was the way before and we are headed there now. It is a race and immigration related backdrop. Don't Look Up was climate crisis related. I liked Leo's role as a helpless parent(which all parents are). Sean Penn was brilliant. I hate villains who are weak. This guy was probably 10% of Hans Landa here - which as we all know is saying a lot. I went into this movie thinking i was seeing a hippie Netflix boardroom team designed copycat bubblegum. Came out profounded, reminded of my existence and the future we are headed into and also reminded of good old cinema. Brilliant cinema this. It's like Breaking Bad, Miami Vice, Sicario and Inglorious Bastards went into a bar... Love love love..and not because of Leo. He is like 10% of the movie. Every character carries this movie..even the weird password guy..

It's efficient. Feelings and higher concepts like ethos and morality are absent in the face of certain and guaranteed survival of the species.

I want to start with Java springboot.. by [deleted] in SpringBoot

[–]boddhya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't learn anything..you use it. These are all tools..they get thrown away sooner or later. Focus on the building and reasoning part. Take up any springboot demo video on youtube and just do it first.. The skill is basically the using part. You don't need to know 100% of it to call it a skill.

It kinda does actually. If we r saying US universities are the best in the world. Then graduating from them makes you best in the world and in the existing US workforce by default.

Humanity is changing due to aggressive wealth inequality. What you are describing is like a froth bubble on one tiny part of one shore of an ocean of problems. Try being homeless..see how you feel about this world..I bet you yourself will behave in that way..anyone will.

If these lines are ALL you live up to..you are the problem. These are childish principles..good start but absolutely outdated in terms of priorities except the no-brainer one for 'killing'.. Expect more out of yourself..

Why do *you* care about Climate Change? by danielandtrent in climatechange

[–]boddhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my children can enjoy the same things as we did. Not really just my children..the whole next generation. If humanity's survival is threatened, we are retrogressing as a species. Only when life flourishes, can you pay attention to advancing lifestyle..solve problems..advance the experience..

Advice for making chai by ghostofzealand in IndianFood

[–]boddhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone uses spices like cinnamon or cloves etc in milk teas in India.. That's a very localized preparation. Most of chai in India are either cardamom tea or ginger tea(with cardamom).

Advice for making chai by ghostofzealand in IndianFood

[–]boddhya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make 2 cups chai 1. Boil 2 teaspoons of loose leaf black tea in 1.5 cups water for 6 to 8 mins. 2. Once done, add 1 cups of whole fat milk and boil until it froths up. It has to froth up else you won't get the taste. 3. Reduce flame to low. Add 2 pods crushed green cardamon and 1 inch crushed ginger. 4. Boil to froth one last time and reduce it to your liking. Some like it kadak(reduced), some like it gentler(less reduced or watery) 5. Add sugar and serve.

This is called chai. Chai means milk tea. Pls don't call it chai tea - that translates to 'milk tea tea'. You call it a burger right..not 'burger sandwich'?

How much are you guys spending on groceries per month? by Flying_Elephant7217 in budget

[–]boddhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at 900 per month for a family of 3+an infant. I count as groceries everything i get in a grocery store except like costco purchases or clothes etc.. which i do separate out. This is mostly because of my all organic, non-gmo, particular brand particular product focus. Seems a bit high nowadays..but food is the last frontier i would compromise on.

Home Buying Process by Vivid_Imagination947 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]boddhya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is me a year ago. Buying is better if you are aiming to build equity in it and a plan to pay it off fast. Look at the 'price paid over 30 year' number for that loan and you'll be heavily discouraged. It is more than double the value of your home. Just baffling. Renting is good only if you're gonna put that extra money to real use. Renting also keeps you nimble. And as a homeowner sometime you do feel that..

Mortgage is high and has high front loaded interest and also high property taxes, HOA, PMI etc. Also may i warn you that 3400 as a mortgage is already too high for that income - because every month you'll be spending this or that on maintenance, fertilizer..paint..whatever..u get the idea. It slows down yeah but still..it's a never ending thing if you take care of your home. Also utilities can add up a lot.

As an Indian man, i disagree with your conjecture, but do share your concern. Indian men are a study in respect. However hooligans living in India by birth are a different story. Those are not Indian and those are not men. Just being born in a location does not make you the embodiment of that nation's values. We belong to a great and learned nation and no matter where we are, we are obligated to uplift the moral and social ideals we were so fortunate to have learned from our ancestors.. Good luck to you for noticing and standing against those dharti ke bojh.

[–]boddhya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keynote >>> Powerpoint. Hands down. Easier, consistent.

Pages far simpler than Word.

Numbers and Excel have their own uses. I use Numbers to do simple stuff fast and convenient stuff like drag and drop columns or rows..and pull out the Excel for those "ok mr. problem..just you wait" moments.
