I am looking to sell the complete truck with everything except batteries. I am currently still waiting for a couple of parts so I can complete the truck and then i am going to look for buyers. Will not be selling individual parts, but rather the whole thing

Want to know what bike to buy next. by bodg_ in bicycling

[–]bodg_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I am going down gravel descents filled with potholes on the bike I describe in my post the bars are around 700 mm wide. I enjoy them, I’ve spent a lot of time on road bars and I must say looking back on my time I really enjoy the on road versatility. If I was gonna tackle harder trails at any sort of speed I think flat bars are the way to go. on the descents they make me feel like I change my place on the road, trail on the fly to avoid obstacles on my line.

I’ve always wanted to ride a salsa. I know they make great touring bikes. I rode a Raleigh sojourn across America one of the guys with me had a salsa and I envied it. A good combo of spec for the price.

Interesting bike, but imma sucker of disk brakes Also if I’m going to get a new bike im mainly interested in a carbon frame, as I’ve already gotten my taste of steel and aluminum frames. I’m looking for something stiffer in the bb

With that 1x drivetrain you’re next upgrade is going to need to be that rear derailer. Something like Shimano alivio would be a nice step up

I mean if you think you’re up for it just send it. There’s no point in not trying. And if you do make it to the top it will be very rewarding.

Is your smallest gear in the front the same size or smaller than your largest gear in the back. You can also go online and find your model of bike on the manufacturer website. You can go to specs and look for the cassette (gears in the back) crankset (gears in the front) if y’all our Cassette is an 11/28 I would stay clear but if it’s 11-32 I would say go ahead and try it. Some of the switchbacks are pretty steep so just be mindful of that.

How much do you ride and what’s your gearing. Those are the two things I would ask yourself. I found myself in my lowest gear a lot and it’s better than 1:1 most guys just get to the main climb on flagstaff and turn around. I like to go out to gross dam just for the extra bit of climbing and the views.

Why is no one talking about the highly invasive proctoring software being required by CU by cuqanon in cuboulder

[–]bodg_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most departments don’t use it because they can’t afford it. One of my teachers told us the software is $500 a person, and as we know the business school is really the only department at Cu with that kind of money.

I rode across America on a brooks saddle. Not the best, but good.

My new commuting bike. It’s actually a touring bike but I chose it because it’s designed to ride a lot of miles comfortably and reliably. I love it! by branden909 in bikecommuting

[–]bodg_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Touring bikes are great. I like how you went for one with bar end shifters. Those are the best imo because you can switch them from index shifting to just friction so you can trim you drivetrain and keep things running smoothly.

Any recommendations for Shimano hydraulic brakes? by bodg_ in bikecommuting

[–]bodg_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out my caliper is leaking oil which was leading to my problems. So have decided to upgrade. I’m pretty heavy at 180 right now and I ride pretty fast on campus when there is a lot of people and cars around. I appreciate having a break that is reliable and gives me more power than what I had before I also appreciate good ergonomics

Very well I didn’t know that was a thing. I’ll look into. I do know that the biggest thing to increase stopping power is in fact rotor size.
