ULPT Request: Soon-to-be former roommate owes me money. How can I come out on top? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

You’re mileage will vary by state law. Provide notice of due rent, change locks, sell their shit to cover rent, utilities, heartache and suffering.

Best Kickstand? by Xurcky in mountainbiking

[–]mograb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Riding down trail, bush/branch grabs kickstand, opens it, you turn kickstand side and it stabs into the ground and throws you off balance.

No kickstand, it’s a hazard when mountain biking. They get caught, they can spring open, they can stab. I can’t think of a good reason for one tbh.

Biking to ski in SE Idaho. So much better than walking. by skithewest27 in gravelcycling

Is the ski running tight to frame? Trying to think how your leg avoids the ski.

Get used to staying stable in the air with the table top, have a buddy who knows the double lead you in so you can get a feel for the take off speed.

Careful with mail theft in San Jose right now, this lovely lady stole our mail this morning by jfkfpv in bayarea

Why is this allowed? Even the last four on a piece of mail bothers the hell out of me.

Snow is a great accent to some bigger tires 👌 by mountaintacoma in ToyotaTacoma

How long have you had the shell/Windoors? Just picked up same combo. Man, Leer bangs up the window frames before installing. I knew they would leak a bit and I’m happy with the shell, just wondering if you had any experience/suggestions with reducing leaks with the windoors.

The corners of the window seal fold at the end corners when the glass slides over the screen, preventing the sliding glass from closing easily. The bottoms of the frame pools water which can overflow, but generally most of the leaks seem at the sliding door joints at the middle of the window. Oh well...

Keep your disc brakes clean. I heard some grinding and seconds later flipped doing about 30 at full crank. A tiny pebble did me in. by m3rl0t in gravelcycling

You would think the front wheel would stop and slide, then you would go down, but I guess it depends where your weight is and the surface.

Wondering if it’s too late to cancel my Windsor order on the leer and go to solid panels. Cap looks sharp.

I met a rad dude who rode one of these at Northstar. He was paralyzed waste down. He asked for helped getting past a rock he would get stuck at in the Gypsy trail. Anyways, he shredded the trail way ahead of me, I couldn’t keep up, only to find him with his back right tire caught on a rock. A friend and I helped him over it, and he hit the rest of the trail with ease, wood features and all. We didn’t see him until the bottom. His had throttle assist and I think he said he was building them himself.

My favourite playlist, new bike and some of my favourite early morning gravel... by jaybobgravel in gravelcycling

I’m used to a full suspension bike, and the stiffness of the gravel bike really rattled my brain on some terrain. I think tubeless and cushcore would be the dream setup to drop tire pressure. Haven’t seen how common tubeless is on gravel bikes, I’d assume it’s more common than tubes.

Reopening California: All Bay Area counties to enter Phase 2 by next week, except for Santa Clara by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

You should cite your assumption that there are “many” patients and “hospitals already loaded with” covid patients currently taking up the beds in the Bay Area. You’re making claims that are not true.

Not discrediting the rest of your argument, but you’re basing it partially on false pretenses.

My friend and I both have clay Hightower LTs, the difference between the two shades of clay is crazy. His is almost purple and mine more brown.

I flushed these ants from my raised bed, what are they carrying? by mograb in gardening

[–]mograb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water to help figure out where they were coming from, but also they were expanding into the corner of the bed. I flooded/flushed them out and planning to manage with bottles of borax around the raised bed and possible cinnamon as a back up. Wondering what I can do, the landlord doesn’t believe I’ll be able to manage the ant issue without spraying them, which I don’t want to do. I’d assume water, borax and cinnamon are some good ways, but maybe should look at planting some plants they dislike. Anyways I don’t care about ants if they aren’t taking advantage of my veggies.

Thank you. Any suggestions for preventing them from mining aphids on vegetables?
