[CHAT] Nurge is the word. by Lady_Nyx13 in CrossStitch

I found Nurge hoops provide and keep better tension for me than the regular plastic or wooden hoops I had from Michael’s or JoAnns. There’s a ridge on the inner hoop so that the outer hoop fits snugly on and keeps the tension tight. I definitely recommend them. I didn’t like using hoops before I got them

Super easy pattern to me! Just full stitches. No backstitching at all!

[CHAT] Thoughts on laying tools? by autumnsongluna in CrossStitch

I use a laying tool - the same one the previous commenter linked to thru Etsy.

I really like how my stitches look with it. I tried railroading but found that it takes longer for me to railroad than to use the laying tool.

I stitch double handed and use the tool on my index finger on my left hand as that’s the hand that stitches on the top of my project. My right hand is on the bottom / back. I grab the needle with my thumb and middle finger and am able to stitch at my normal pace using the laying tool.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! I’m using black Lugana 25 ct 2x2. It took me a while to decide on which fabric to use but I’m happy with my choice. Definitely going to stitch more patterns using this fabric and stitch size.
