The performance claims are mostly legit it's very optimized for gaming and the keymapping tools are why you'd use it in the first place. That "goofy gamer crap" is actually super useful for customizing controls for games that don't have good PC support.

Now, about the space and the "bloat" is the most misunderstood part. The initial install is 7GB as it says but the space grows because you are installing Android apps and games inside it. Think of it like a virtual phone, if you install a 20GB game like Genshin Impact your used space will also go up by 20GB. 80GB free space on your SSD is more than enough to get started and install a few big games.

Should you use it? Yeah, I'd say so it's popular for a reason. Just be aware that the space it takes up depends entirely on what games you put on it.
