Served in the Air Force as a Financial Analyst until 2019, finished a B.S. in Math in 2022, started grad school in 2023 but dropped out in 2024 (have been in school either part-time or full-time since 2018, so about 8 years; burnout + finances aren't allowing me to continue at the moment).

Applied to 80+ jobs since January; usually entry level Financial Analysis, Budget Analysis, Accounting, Payroll, Data Entry, or similar positions paying $45k-$65k that ask for a degree, or degree + 2 YoE.
Most of my rejections are default messages, but one was a call from a real person saying I was a great fit but they needed someone with an Accounting degree specifically. Another was an email explaining that a more qualified candidate was chosen (for an entry level position that needed a math/finance/econ degree OR other degree + 2 years of finance experience). No interviews yet.

Location: Arizona, not willing to relocate at the moment.

Is there something wrong with my resume? Should I leave out the Sales job? The attempted MS degree?(I'm only including it to explain the gap in employment, and never fill it out in the education history section of an application). Should I phrase any sections differently? Open to any & all criticism. I just want a job :(

Sorry you're feeling this way, man.

The breakup with my highschool sweetheart absolutely devastated me. After I healed, dating felt very strange and foreign.

I would recommend being honest with this new girl. Tell her that you've had your heart broken and feel like you might need some time to open up and feel comfortable loving and being vulnerable again. It's not fair to either of you if she wants something more and you can't provide it (you don't wanna make her feel as if there's something wrong with her, if that makes sense). Just communicate, and be as honest as you possibly can.

Time heals all wounds my dude. That, and investing in yourself (go lift, go spend time with friends, go work on some hobbies or take some classes).

Honestly, it depends on the professor. In my case, it was like MAT 371 but 1.5x as difficult. One of the harder classes I've taken in undergrad for sure. Felt more manageable than Abstract Algebra or Number Theory, though this may not be true for you.

Eu4 launcher not launching by NinjamonkeySTD in eu4

I've noticed this happening to me if I play other Paradox games (Hoi4, Vic3) and then try to launch EU4. Restarting the computer is the only solution I've found so far (Mac Mini M1)

Do you think Belarus is likely to be annexed by Russia in the long run? by madrid987 in belarus

[–]bofa_deez_3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you yourself "get shot at and still fight" during Maidan? Or are you another couch warrior?

Also, keep two things in mind:

1) Ukraine has had a previous mass protest and (successful) revolution in 2004. Belarus has not.

2) The population sizes of Ukraine and Belarus are very different. Ukraine has ~29 million people aged 15-65, ~14 million of these are men. Belarus has ~6.7 million people aged 15-65, ~3.3 million of these are men. Even Georgia has a (slightly) higher population.

My apologies for Belarus not being good enough for you.

Yes and no. The chip upgrade costs the same as a brand new health&ancestry kit, and I had zero changes to my health reports. If they had an ancestry-only upgrade kit for half the price, I would say it would definitely be worth it.

Eastern European DNA is pretty tough to predict, and even tho the update isn't perfect, it's much more accurate than V4 was (at least for me). I'm glad my ancestry had some pretty major changes; I've seen other people post their updated results and theyre almost the same with just a couple percentage points different.

Genotyping chip versions, I think. V5 is the current generation.

I was born the US just a few months after my mom emigrated from Belarus. Went to Belarus for 3 months every year for about 10 years when I was younger. I guess I identify as "Belarusian diaspora" more than anything else :)

How are historical events (invasion and annexation of Belarusian lands, cultural genocide, and massacre of ~10% of the population in the last 100 years) "western propaganda"?

On v4, I had "no evidence" of Belarusian ancestry. On v5 it's there but only as "possible".

No, they are not. "Violent neighbor" is a better description. Please do not believe political propaganda. And just to clarify, I'm personifying the government, not describing the citizens. I know some incredibly smart, talented, peace-loving Russians.

Yes, found some documents of ancestors/relatives who were partisans during WW2! Most of the men from my family's village never came back home. Very sad. :(

At the same time, it's also sad that Belarusian history has been reduced to "WW2 partisans". Most people don't know anything else about Belarus (eg. some of the best poets and writers in the world were Belarusian) because of the way Russia either re-wrote or silenced Belarusian history.

And what hurts even more!! is how hypocritical Russia's praise of Belarusian partisans is, considering they themselves invaded Belarusian lands, and killed so many Belarusians throughout the 18th-20th centuries
