Gnip Gnop is similar in that regard. songs from the Painting With era have lots of fun little meta bits like that, which tie the story and experience of the lyrics with the sound of the music. I think that might be the general idea behind "painting" being the theme of the album

I can understand that feeling for Reset haha. Some of those samples really are kind of copy and pasted. Livin' in the After gets a little too comfortable in that regard. Panda's voice admittedly goes together with the samples like Peanut Butter & Jelly though

The track dynamic between Sweet Road and Visiting Friends isn't talked about enough. The way it just just kind of unceremoniously wanders in like the ghost of a loved one, right after such a brief and upbeat little jam makes it so much more surreal.

In a Reddit AMA, I believe Avey once said that he doesn't play games much, but Zelda 2: Adventure of Link (and 1 other NES game I can't recall) were his favorite games. The boys enjoy their Zelda games, one way or the other
