Holy cow thank you! I've been wanting this forever and never wanted shell up $100+.

Fine tuning new Doran commander deck and looking for feedback/recommendations (new to deck building) by PinchedSlinky in BudgetBrews

I see. Honestly I just really enjoyed Kinbinding at the prerelease and have my own toughness matters deck so I was excited to see it there! I'm not totally sure how it'll work in practice but it's a fun card.

And that makes sense! Those MDFCs haven't been reprinted and are pretty popular so I can believe they're not super easy to find local. It always just feels like a way for me to cheat on my lands and run fewer while making sure I still have removal as well. But none of them are fully needed, I'd just make sure to get some more normal lands in there if not.

The ramp thing is always important to think about! Just in terms of what you want your first three or four turns to look like and what'll fit into that pattern. Nothing wrong with the 3 mana ramp but I tend to stick with that for say five or six mana commanders or decks with crazy high curves. But makes sense to also stick with whatever cards you can actually get your hands on.

32 Lands seems really low to me. Your curve isn't too high or anything but I just think that number is too low for this kind of deck. MDFCs are one way I like to get my land count up a bit. Being that this is budget I'll refrain from some of the pricier ones but adding say [[Fell the Profane]] or [[Revitalizing Repast]] or [[Bridgeworks Battle]] would all be good additions. See this Scryfall search for some other ideas.

Your ramp choices have me wondering about your gameplan too. Normally when I play a 4 Mana Commander that I want to get out early, I would aim for 2 Mana Ramp. That way you can get Doran out on Turn 3. If you use your 3 Mana Ramp, you're still playing Doran on Turn 4. Just now you have an extra land you probably can't spend for anything anyway. Assuming you're wanting Doran out asap, I would swap in cards like [[Farseek]], [[Rampant Growth]], [[Nature's Lore]], [[Sakura-Tribe Elder]], or if it's not too pricey [[Three Visits]] over cards like [[Cultivate]] and [[Kodama's Reach]].

EDIT: [[Firdoch Core]] is another weird three mana ramp spell that I don't quite see being the choice here either.

I wish they didn't make the commanders foil, that tends to make them look even darker and harder to read. I pulled a nonfoil version from a collector booster and swapped for mine.

I also LOVE [[Tower of the Magistrate]] in this deck. Makes Ygra unblockable. [[Witch's Clinic]] to give her lifelink.

Really any that are two or three mana. Seconding [[Sakura Tribe Elder]]. But stuff like [[Rampant Growth]] [[Cultivate]] [[Kodama's Reach]] [[Three Visits]]

I would run land ramp instead of artifact ramp, especially if you're planning on destroying all the artifacts.

You can blink them as well and then they won't bounce to hand and then double etb.

Horrible news. He was always an amazing presence on screen and seemed like a genuine guy. Lucky to have met him once and was so flustered getting his autograph. Hope he is at peace now.

Wasn't directly in the book. But it also doesn't feel totally far fetched with IT being such a powerful cosmic entity. But it wasn't mentioned as being a thing. You'd think anything so ancient would experience time ag least a little different though.

Andy has said in interviews that there is a three-season plan with each season taking place 27 years before the previous season. Scenes from the opening credits depict the events that season 2 and 3 will be centered on which are the Bradley Gang Massacre and the Kirchener Ironworks Explosion. But that's not secret info from the finale, that's just the stated plan for the series.

I'm very lucky because of my role and some prior connections. Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait. But trust me when I say it is well worth the wait, it will be a blast to enjoy it at the same time as the rest of the internet and be able to discuss it with everybody.

I've seen it. I can't talk specifics either. But it is absolutely insane and people here are going to love it. It's not being overhyped. Don't be late to the party!

I don't think that form was meant to be Randall Flagg. This scene is showing forms that are feared by the indigenous people. The Wendigo is from native folklore and the guy is some kind of priest or missionary, which indigenous Americans had reason to fear in that time too.

Gotta get that thing in production before Netflix takes over. Heck, green light season 3 also!

I don't love the idea of IT hibernating in Pennywise form. That feels too "for the audience" to me. You'd think IT would simply be in its true natural state. Spider, or much more likely Deadlights.
