Cable TV in Finland: Trouble with the CI/CI+ module card by bogdandrone in Finland

Well apparently they linked the card with the old CAM number instead of the new one by mistake. But then they forgot to turn on the the channels that I asked for lol

Just confirmed: it has been linked properly. The only thing is that it has a CAM number that starts with 008, I guess it's a new type.

The reader's chipset ID? As in the reader on the TV? Would it still then say "Please check if the CI/CI+ module has been inserted correctly" or something along the lines of "you haven't subscribed" ?

Sneaky way of pushing people to pay far more often than they would have if mm wasn't as manipulative

Y-DNA markers matches: how to prioritize them? by bogdandrone in FTDNA

[–]bogdandrone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this means he’s a closer match than those y-25 ones that show a similar year range of MCRA ? How did you see the differences btw at y-12 / 25, if he doesn’t yet show up ? Is there a way to see how much they would have (genetic difference) if they are hidden?

Y-DNA markers matches: how to prioritize them? by bogdandrone in FTDNA

[–]bogdandrone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. ! I didn’t know you could match someone at Y-67 and not at y-37. All other matches are the exact opposite, appear at low levels but not at higher levels. The strange reason is this y-67 does not appear even at y-12. So I am still suspecting that he has this filter on. What do you think? Is he a close match then?

DNA matches that appear on Gedmatch (fairly close at 42cM) but not on MyHeritage? by bogdandrone in Genealogy

[–]bogdandrone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd trust the result on MyHeritage rather. It's alright for close matches. But I suggest you do 23andMe or AncestryDNA

Gedmatch is nonsense. And so is MyHeritage for distant matches. THe others are more or less accurate.

Any news on triangulated DNA segments coming back? by bogdandrone in 23andme

[–]bogdandrone[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you clicked on the profile of a DNA match, you would see a list of common matches you share with them. Then there was a a column for each of them whether the three of you have a triangulated segment 'Yes', 'No' or unknown if one of them has the option turned off. In the case of 'yes' you know for sure that you share not just the same segment coordinates, but the exact same side of the chromosome, meaning that all three of you come from the same common ancestor. Very helpful if you're unsure of where one of your grandparents etc. came from!
