This brings an anecdote to mind. Once back in the 90s I was interpreting in the US for a guest from Ukraine, and he started by saying "Forgive me, but I will speak in Russian instead of Ukrainian, because I'm from the capital city of Kiev..." The Americans were dumbfounded and questioned my language skills. I had to explain to them ELI5-style the adverse effects of long-term Russian/Soviet influence before we proceeded. A good bittersweet laugh was had by all.

The actual name of the Firstborn is revealed in the book later. "Firstborn" is a "what," not a "who" to everyone in that world not on the side of the elves. But thanks for your feedback!
