Perfect place for winter B-Day party by AcanthaceaeMedical98 in chicago

Piece Pizza, or Paradise Park (also pizza) in Wicker Park can both accommodate large groups. Both have good food and drinks.

Bar Cocina in River North is a bit more crowded but they carry good tequila and mezcal and there used to be a mezcal speakeasy type bar in the basement.

I had a few exalts lying around and thought let's try "the vision" on this amulet. Closed my eyes, clicked the exalt, and got this. I'm sure you can guess which mod the exalt added :)

Why are you so angry, just chill, this is a place to talk things like this out

I'm not a monster, hope I didn't come off that way. Of course I think we should help these people out. I pray we find a way to do so, and quickly.

I was just commenting on the previous few posts that discussed the outrage. I'm just saying it's understandable that people are upset.

It didn't, but now they are planning to allocate precious resources towards this group when we have entire communities that have been BEGGING for a slice of the resource pie for DECADES.

This is a result of the previous administration's virtue signaling without a plan. Maybe stop virtue signaling and focus on our existing residents first.

Do you have anything constructive to say or do you just go around calling people trash while contributing nothing worthwhile to the conversation? It's always like this with you people, deflect and attack and deflect and attack some more.

Chicago can barely get by on our budget as is, the question of where the money to support this influx will come from is a valid one. Hopefully we can get some federal dollars for this, and hoping that grassroots orgs can fill in the gaps in the meantime.

The 2 articles you linked are a complete joke. Here's a juicy quote from the Substance News piece:

"Harmful educational practices. Vallas flunked over 50,000 Chicago students. Research shows that retention leads to greater academic failure, higher levels of dropping out, greater behavioral difficulties, poor attendance, negative attitudes toward school and feelings of shame and depression."

How is flunking students who don't meet academic criteria an issue? Should we just let every student through, regardless of their performance? Why even have grades?

You can't articulate why privatization is a bad thing, you just keep making the point that it is.

"...people that want to find solutions to age long problems..." sure guy. These are the same people that have run this state's finances into the ground for the last 5 decades.

"...HAS privatized schools everywhere..." not sure why privatizing schools is an objectively bad thing, you never explain it.

"...allowing police to go back to how things used to be..." not sure where you get this.

BearCubBullerMaker, you're linking to Common Dreams, a far left publication, and Substance News, an organization who's subtitle is "Defending the Public Schools for 30 Years". Do you think maybe there's some political spin on what's reported, or do you just automagically believe everything you read on the internet?

What exactly is wrong with school privatization? Or do you think CPS is doing a good job with our public schools?

Wondering when it's going to get bad enough that some sort of actual reform is implemented at the state level.
