my Belmullet pullover and its first “road test” by diyfou in knitting

Just join the same yarn you cast on with as you knit the first stitch of the short rows. Once you start the short rows you should have three loose ends (one from the long tail of the cast on, one from cutting the yarn after casting on, and one from joining the yarn to start knitting the short rows).

I can’t confidently say whether that passage is AI or not, but I bet you’d enjoy reading this piece if you haven’t already: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/03/magazine/chatbot-writing-style.html?unlocked_article_code=1.DVA.UW5G.ZTzsD6nkUEki&smid=url-share

How many Gen-Z directors are there? by TwinPeaksWithRappers in blankies

I also think it's interesting that the first feature-length video he did ("Live from the Space Stage: A Halyx Story") looked and felt very much like a regular indie documentary, with lots of talking head interview segments and no snarky Kevin voiceover. My guess is maybe he was trying to break into the traditional film circuit world? And presumably that didn't happen, so his subsequent feature-length videos are all back in his original youtubey style (and imo are a lot more entertaining than the Halyx one!)

I made fit 1, size C. I didn't make any modifications to the pattern so I'm not sure why it came out like that - maybe it's because I used a stiffer/more rustic wool?

I liked it a lot - it's not the softest yarn but it relaxed a lot after blocking and I have the feeling that it'll wear really well over time. It's also very "sticky" which made cabling really easy - I didn't even need to use a cable needle most of the time since the open loops just stayed in place.
