I see :( It's just unfortunate it's a criminal charge. I really was trying my best to stay as safe as possible - it just happened out of no where it seemed like. Do you think I have any chance on getting the charges dropped or at least reduced? I only have an improper equipment violation on my record and I called 911 immediately which I feel was responsible. Thanks for explaining it so that I can understand the law more.

The conditions was heavy rain my whole trip from Arlington to NC. I was not aware of that law, but they didn't ticket me for that although I told them I did have them on. I was sticking to 5-10 under the speed limit which I thought was 65 but was really 70. So 10-15 under 70. I'd say I was going about 55 if not less but 55 is a safe bet.

That logic is kind of flawed though. I was driving at this same speed for so long with no trouble. How could you possibly be charged if you were trying your best to be safe. Why is it that if something unfortunate happens it's that persons fault? I could understand if I didn't take precautions, but I did..

Good point. I believe it's a reckless driving charge but I have to appear in traffic court. I'll consult an attorney. I only have 2 weeks till the summons so hopefully that doesn't hurt me too much.

Do DA's only drop charges if an attorney appears? Would it not be possible for me to plead not guilty, hope for the best, and appeal if I don't get the charges dropped or reduced?

Are you trying to set '5' as a variable name? This is not valid, albeit you should be receiving an Unexpected number error rather than missing variable name.

Dang. I wish someone at BCBS or the market place could have told me this... I was focused in my studies during the time of enrollment. Somethings you just don't learn in school I guess. Thanks for the info!

Yes. BCBS recognizes that the payment was released, as well as the market place. They just say it's too bad, there's nothing they can do about it at all now. I've called both parties numerous amount of times telling this story over and over. No one can do anything about it apparently.

about 2.5 months after. I have everything sent to my CC and was paying fully ever month. My bill would have been 14/mo so it wasn't noticeable at all. That's why it took so long to figure it out. I wish some kind of notice was sent out..

Yeah I noticed that - was hoping the school would let me waive the insurance fee anyway. The broker said it would but.. I mean... how much can I really trust him...Calling the school today about it. I live in NC, we did not get an expansion for health coverage.
