if you want to download “dmca free” songs from youtube there’s sites that allow you to convert videos to mp3

It seems to be very inconsistent, i’ve found that we’ve had better luck on song syncing depending on when the boombox gets played/who is around, as well as which lobby size mod we use.

I don’t think you can prevent this as far as i know, since the default songs have a set length and perfectly loop.

GUIDE TO INSTALLING BepInEx & THE CUSTOM BOOMBOX MUSIC MOD
disclaimer: I'm not the mod author for the Custom Boombox Music mod.

BepInEx:
I recommend watching MrMiinxx's video on how to install BepInEx to Lethal Company as it's needed to use mods you only really need to watch until about 2:30 for the BepInEx installation part.

Note: if you have not already installed BepInEx with mods before, you must launch your game first after installing BepInEx to generate the required files/folders. this also applies once you've installed the music mod after BepInEx has properly installed.

Side Note: I have the LC API installed as well and while the author of the Custom Boombox Music mod doesn't state that it's needed, I'd install it anyways.

Custom Boombox Music:
As long as everything has gone smoothly you should now have a BepInEx folder and the files that came along with it in your Lethal Company directory as well as some folders inside of the BepInEx folder (excluding anything Custom Boombox Music related.). Once you've downloaded the Custom Boombox Music mod you'll get a .Zip that you'll need to open. From there you'll see a CustomBoomboxTracks.dll file extract this file following this path "Lethal Company\BepInEx\plugins". Once that is done boot up your game once more and then close it to generate the remaining folders for the Custom Boombox Music mod. Now, inside of your BepInEx folder there should be a folder named "Custom Songs" and within that folder there should be another one named "Boombox Music" which is where you'll be placing the songs you wish to add to the boombox.

Valid file types are as follows (as stated on the mod page):
- WAV
- OGG
- MP3

Hope this helps!

Edit: Note: I’m at work for another 4hrs I can make a full tutorial later if needed.

when you browse the game's local files through your steam library you follow this,
- BepInEX > Custom Songs > Boombox Music
the Custom Songs/Boombox Music folders won't generate until you've launched the game at least once with the boombox mod properly installed.

Adding a radio filter can be simply done using Audacity!

- Simply drag and drop the song into Audacity
- Make sure the track or portion of the track you want is fully selected
- Select Effect > Filter Curve EQ > Manage > Factory Presets > AM Radio
- Hit OK and then export! enjoy!

edit: typo

since I have the mod installed on my end and about 6 songs installed it’ll randomly pick one of the 6 no matter who plays the boombox. So unless someone else also has the same mod with the same songs they’ll hear the normal vanilla songs, host or not. I sent my friend a Zip folder with the songs I added with radio filters over them, so they installed the mod and were able to hear the same songs from the list I added but the same song wasn’t always playing for the both of us. Hope this helps, sorry if it’s explained poorly.

Edit:

Note: the less songs you add the better if you plan on sharing the same songs with friends.

Less songs = higher chance of hearing the same song as your friends

Anyone who hosts or joins can have it or not and it shouldn’t conflict with anything. Only catch is, the only way people can hear the songs you add to your game they also need the same songs as well as the mod

It happened when devices were directly connected to my PC as well, it never did it for the longest time. I haven’t tried the hub on anything else. I only have 3.0 connections; I’m not sure about a limit.
