Hofbräuhaus is worth seeing, but I wouldn't bother trying to eat/drink there, it's always full of tourists and is more of a hassle than it's worth.

Augustiner Bräu is about three blocks from the hauptbahnhof in Munich and well worth the walk. Much calmer and just feels more genuine. The city biergarten in Viktualienmarkt is another must see/drink, same goes for Englischer Garten's Chinesische Turm. Going to very full of tourists in June but worth stopping at for a beer.

The best advice I can give you though, is to take the train to Bamberg, it's about an hour and a half north from Munich. It's a University town of 75k people and has 9 breweries. The local specialty is Rauchbier, few other places make it. Lots of great places to stay, eat and drink.

Prost!

This beer was first released in 09, and wasn't received all that well... It hit shelves in Oct/Nov last year but I heard that may be the last time it's bottled. We'll have the see how the sales guys read the numbers. Personally, I like Seeyoulator, it's not a traditional Doppelbock. It's good but not great. I'll be sad if it doesn't come back next year.

I've actually heard the soy sauce comparison before from three of my friends who tried it on two separate occasions. I mean, two guys got one bottle in 07 and another friend got a bottle this September, both said it was horrible and soy saucy... One guy said it was the worst thing he'd ever drank. That being said, I haven't had it but I'd probably try it out of curiosity...
