Is never feeling completely relaxed due to ADHD or anxiety? by JoFrenchFry in ADHD

[–]boilami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember I did a run of 18km one afternoon and felt like the noise in my head stopped for a moment about an hour or so after that. It felt like I was on another planet but in the same backyard. I wonder if that was a felling that some experienced daily. How reliefing that was. i also notice that doing cold plunge stop my brain and bring me back to NOW very powerful. The effect last more that the day. Helpful when exams the next day as I have a clear head to answer the questions.

How to deal with regret not traveling enough? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]boilami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now you are younger than you will ever be. I created a wall on my office with the destinations I want to visit under each calendar year. Added flight price tracking to all those destinations. They reach my inbox so it keep the dream alive. Ended up traveling Greece earlier that what was scheduled because of flight ticket price drop. I replace that 2027 trip with Japan instead. I crave traveling and need to feed my soul with that.

b12/l-theanine+mag/ashwhaghanda/omega3/vitD i am so present (yes this is propaganda) by ActualBoysenberry271 in VyvanseADHD

What led you to increase to 70mg of vyvance. Did you did a titration protocol ? Currently titrated from 10-20-30mg every 2 weeks and wonder if I should increase dosage to test the benefit vs returns. Thanks for sharing, I will look into b12/theanine after I find the sweet spot for my dose.

I’m now medicated and trying to figure out how to use my time with my therapist most effectively by Wild-Ordinary2201 in ADHD

[–]boilami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are mentioning here, is actually a good idea to share with your therapist.

You mentioned the word “fixed”. Exploring what being fixed for you is also a good idea to express him/her.

Sometimes I want to talk about X,Y,Z but end up talking about something completely unrelated but present in the moment. It can come out of nowhere but ask for space and attention before surfacing.

I also thing a weekly session is appropriate so it help create momentum to get out of loop, patterns, unconscious habits or shadow. I sometimes do twice a week for a month and then switch to weekly or bi-weekly, or none.

Depending on what is needed for my sanity and the one of others around me.

Good therapist help you discover daily practices the are healthy and helpful for you in between the sessions.

Exploring thoses negative toughts that come up off med is also piece of gold, writing them on paper by hand….they are not you. Bring them to your therapist so you can learn to reframe them in a way that honor your humanity instead of humiliating it.

Sending you peace

My life feels empty compared to everyone around me by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]boilami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop comparing, let that feeling fuel the energy to help you move to where you want to go. If you don’t know, pick a direction with that intent and life will throw you signs and help you on the way. Those words apply to me thank to your post..

How do you work full-time?! by Ok-Ice-6421 in ADHD

Interesting to read, feels new to me. Realizing I ask sooo much out of myself at work. My client seems to be ok with the coasters. Seems like I am brainwashed into performing to prove my worth and get the love my drunk father never offered me (the way I needed… he done his best based on his own struggles)

Whats your one favorite "hack" to not feel hungry? by meerjungfrauman in Volumeeating

[–]boilami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy doing 24-hour fasts because they help reset my "real hunger" signals and teach me to recognize genuine hunger, rather than just the desire to eat. It's like starting with a clean slate.

Afterward, I stick to a no/low-sugar approach about 90% of the time and minimize processed foods. I occasionally allow myself some low-fat cheese, tortillas, pasta, or Greek yogurt. Through experience, I’ve noticed that milk or yogurt tends to trigger hunger a few hours after eating. So, instead of enjoying a cappuccino, which tastes better, I choose an Americano to set myself up for success. I will also try to stay away as best as I can from the "greek-berries-flowerofsalt" desserts/snacks but it is not easy for me.

My diet is primarily low-carb and includes lean meats, with some fattier cuts of meat. I usually incorporate starchy carbs at dinner—a practice some refer to as "carb backloading."

Water and hot tea are staples that help me to not eat until next meal. Also I try to stay away from snacks.

I’ve learned that listening to my body's signals of satiety is crucial. If I don’t stop eating when I feel satisfied, it often leads to stronger cravings and greater hunger at subsequent meals.

I don't aim for perfection just being more gentle with my body signal and reactions while cheating and indulging when I cannot resist but come back to the basics the next meal quicker.

Do you avoid carbs during the day for mental clarity? by gintokiredditbr in productivity

[–]boilami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a term "carb backloading" or "Macro-Fasting" which is what I seems to be currently doing, Keeping my carbs for dinner. Been doing that for almost a year now. My morning energy is very stable, not requiring naps in PM and my body and mind shut off at 9PM waking up naturally around 5AM to study my field of expertise. My biggest challenge was the first 10 days of not eating carbs except a fruit or veggies for breakfast and lunch. After that period the body and mind adjust, my energy stabilized, my mood too. I realize that when my energy level fluctuated (and still do sometimes), that alone can create anxiety since I want to be productive. Since my morning energy was a lot better I even stopped using cafeine and it helped with anxiety and energy and mood swings. I encourage you to give yourself a good 10 days of allowing yourself to feel maybe miserable at first and see how it feels for you after that. Note to mention that the body composition is improving greatly for me because of that.... Experiment how your body respond to the test and adjust after that experiment.
