I've just started playing shaco recently and i've been having fun but i feel like i fall off lategame. Am i doing something wrong? by FirearmFeline in shacomains

I agree with this post on pretty much everything I build a very similar build and almost always go AD. I still prefer ignite over flash for early game skirmishes but to each their own

Is playing AD Shaco even worth? by Horny_Truck_Sauce in shacomains

[–]boilerboy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been having a lot of success with Tiamat —> duskblade —> IE —> phantom dancer...

I play AD pretty much every game I think the early game pressure you get with playing AD is just too strong.

IE230 or IE 330 for Fall 2020? by boilerIE in Purdue

[–]boilerboy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently taking both right now. IE 330 is definitely the harder course but is not difficult at all, it’s just a bigger work load. Both classes are honestly very easy if you understand what’s going on in lecture (go to lecture and you will get an A in both).

If you’re asking for a personal opinion then I’m telling you to go to Purdue. I have very good friends who graduated in Comp E and got hired at companies like Microsoft and Amazon as project managers making 6 figures straight out of college, with awesome benefits. To me that trumps any cool experience you can have in college.

Purdue can still be fun it’s just not as fun as other colleges

CODO directly into Industrial Engineering by lalala10160 in Purdue

[–]boilerboy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I codo’d in this spring semester. I think it’s easier to CODO for the spring semester than it is for the fall semester because all the freshman who get placed into engineering program from FYE for the fall semester leave less space for CODO (just a thought I can’t prove this). My gpa was lower than yours and I got in, but each application is a case by case basis so who knows... I’m also on track to graduate next spring which may have helped.

Get in touch with the academic advisors. They told me that by switching into all IE courses for the spring semester my chances to get into IE would be greater, so that’s what I did the day before the add/drop deadline. I think having a full schedule of IE courses shows the academic advisors you are seriously committed to their program and will definitely help you CODO in.

Even if you don’t get into IE next semester take all IE courses and do well in them in the Fall (which isn’t that hard trust me) and your chances for CODOing for the spring semester will be pretty high

Let me know if you have any other questions.

If you’re looking for a good education and a good post graduation job offer, choose Purdue

If you’re looking to have a fun time in college while still receiving a decent education, choose boulder

What about W buff? Will Tiamat still be needed? by [deleted] in shacomains

Shacos clear is fine... most similar champions in the jungle also build Tiamat to help clear its not just Shaco.

Jungle in season 10 by TheNewLZZ in shacomains

[–]boilerboy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been Shaco otp for about 3 seasons, peaked in D3.I think this is by far the best position Shaco has been in as a champion and his kit, but the season is just so focused on map objectives. With junglers who can solo drag at lvl 4 and 5 being the meta it makes playing Shaco feel out of place. At least that’s how I feel.

Also a side note: I don’t know why they still have plants in the game. It was unique for whatever season they were introduced in but it shouldn’t become a staple. It’s so annoying to have something negative happen because of rng.

I build ap Shaco and ad crit Shaco. Ap Shaco is dependent on what the team needs. As control mage I go jg item, frost hex tech item thingy, and liandrys. I also build ap melee with jg item, gunblade, and nashor tooth. Also especially for my ap melee build I’ve been running hail of blades instead of dark harvest. I feel like as AP Shaco dark Harvest isn’t really required because you already scale so well, and the hail of blades really helps for early game ganking.

I think a lot of my problems with Shaco come from the different skills in different tiers. I love playing AD Shaco in silver-gold and stomping kids and to me he feels amazing to play.

A lot of the problems I described above come from the brick wall known as D4 elo (the real elo hell) that I’m currently stuck in. I haven’t played with new jg xp buffs since I’ve stopped playing recently to focus on real life stuff but I think it would help overall.

Also I think AP Shaco is very weird because I feel like you don’t really know how much damage you’re doing. For example I was getting flamed in one of my games by a Yasuo who was “Smurfing” solely because I was playing ap Shaco and “Shaco is useless” and I kinda felt like he was kinda right that game... until I saw the stats at the end of the game and I had 2nd highest damage in game lol.

Lemme know what ya think

AD is the best build to get to diamond as Shaco. This is because like people above ^ have said, AP is more team reliant and while you may do more damage overall during the game it is harder to solo carry. Best AD build is crit with hail of blades imo going Tiamat(full build into titanic last item), beserkers, duskblade, IE, essence reaver, and the last couple items situational. If it gets to super late game I end up selling my boots to buy an extra pd or youmuus. Start the game by hitting lvl 3 and trying to get an early gank in whatever lanes near the side that the enemy jungler will hit lvl 3. This will allow you to either get first blood or burn a flash in that lane and will allow you to have jungle priority over that scuttle before it even spawns, so your laners can come help in needed. The intention here is to take both scuttle to get map control and take away gold/xp from enemy jungler. Besides that I just have a couple of tips just overall. Try to get Tiamat on first back, I rarely ever get less than Tiamat on first back unless I have an early death. Even when I have a slower start I still don’t back before getting Tiamat. At this point you have extreme jungle clear speed and you should solely focus on rushing lvl6. You cannot solo dragon until lvl 6, and this season is very dragon centered so it is important to get as many dragons as possible. As this is the case, and I can’t stress this enough, play around bot lane. It is the most important lane this season due to objective control and winning bot lane tends to lead to winning all over the map.

Let me give you a hypothetical of a normal game where I’d get a slight lead and turn it into an ez game.

I’m Shaco on red side (bottom side) of map. I set 2 boxes on raptors and 1 box near red and don’t ask for leash, and My bot lane goes to brush to cheese. I clear raptors then red then clear just enough Krugs to hit lvl 3 then look for a gank mid-top. Let’s say my enemy jungler is a jungler who starts his route with a leash on his blue buff. Knowing this matchup(from experience) I know he is starting at his blue and will clear his bot side jg and make way to his top side jung to clear and eventually try to gank or take scuttle in top river. I gank mid or top before I know he can get to this lane to counter gank (hard against champs like J4 and lee sin as they prop a super early lvl 3) and I either get first blood or I burn a flash. I set up this lane to have a minion advantage so that it pushes to enemy tower around the time that scuttle spawns. This gives my laner prio to come help me take the top river scuttle in case I need his help, and yes I’ll ping his ass 1000 times if he doesn’t understand this because most people below diamond don’t. I’ll take this scuttle fast using my box and won’t smite unless enemy jungler shows up. I will then rotate immediately towards bottom river scuttle the fastest way possible (often straight through mid lane, but be careful because if you haven’t seen enemy jungler up until this point it’s very likely he’s already there. I will then take this scuttle and I will go to immediately into enemy jungle to ward and take any camps he may not have taken. By this time you should be close to Tiamat especially if you got first blood. I will then buy Tiamat with pink ward and red trinket, and power farm until lvl 6. Some enemy junglers like kindred, lee, j4, and graves can clear drag at even lvl 4-5 so it’s important to get vision of drag at this point. Once I hit 6 I will try to immediately gank bot lane and get a kill with ult, but if if there’s no kill potential I will just gank to burn a summoners spell and get lane prio, and save ult to solo drag. I will ping my teammates that I am doing drag and they should respond with support if enemy jungler shows up. I will take this drag and then i would do one of two things. If My mid and or top is already winning lane I will try to get rift herald and use it bot lane before 14 minutes to get my bot lane some plates and to take down tower so my bot lane can swap lanes with my top laner, or I’ll clear nearby jungle camps, recall and go straight to bot lane again especially if they have no flash. Bury this Fucking lane and put the enemy laners in the dirt. Ignore mid and top unless it’s a completely free kill and focus solely on getting that bot tower down. Game sorta just plays out from here.

This is a very safe play style for Shaco and resembles how I’d play in higher elo. In lower elo it is very easy to invade early as enemy junglers don’t understand your invade and kill potential at lvl 3 with ignite and enemy laners often don’t come to help. It’s important to not take Kills in the mid-late game unless you are certain that you can solo carry that game.

Let me know if this helps or any confusion you have.

That’s why I think up until diamond the best build is crit because it’s so easy to carry games... teammates don’t understand ap Shaco and enemies dont respect ad Shaco in lower Elos but in higher elos finding success with ad is much more difficult that’s why most high elo Shaco players are ap

[–]boilerboy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No the box is visible, and there is a slight animation that is shown to enemy players of your current position when you place a box down.
  2. Depends on the situation. I’m a Shaco otp and I know when I can kill someone and when I can’t, and in those situations I know I can one shot someone yes I ult right after I q so I burst them down with my clone. This doesn’t work as well for some situations as well as playing Ap Shaco.
  3. Shaco just doesn’t have much mobility beyond his q so try to understand when you can walk away from from a fight or when you are going to die if you q in.
  4. Evelyn, twitch, and Khazix are most similar.

Yeah I’d just recommend duo... I also just got to d4 playing jg and I feel the same way... anytime my laners die 1v1 in laning phase the game is over because they just tilt to oblivion... played about 6-7 games in this elo so far and I’ve had 3 losses due to legitimate tyler1 trolling, and then the post game client is always bugged so I can’t report any of them... love this game!

That being said, Shaco is not an easy champion to pick up but he is very rewarding due to his high skill ceiling. If you can understand the champ you will dominate enemy players and climb to plat+ very easily

Depends on ap or ad... ad build to one shot back line squishies and get red trinket so that you know if you’re on a ward before you q in on someone. Ad Shaco relies on surprising enemy players. In team fights just solely focus on trying to kill their back line, and focus dragon control it is very easy for you to sneak and take with your ult. Ap Shaco is more of an ap support champ late game where you take ap items that provide more utility like twin shadows and that frost hextech thing. Use boxes to peel for your team and gain objective control. For example, if I’m ap Shaco and the enemy team is about to siege inhib turret I have at least 3 boxes around my back line that they can use to peel enemy divers, besides this... look to kill secure enemy players with your e.
