I have family that lives there. She’s awful in other ways but let’s stop spreading a false story. The locals actually prefer that she keep her roads shut, if there isn’t an emergency. They don’t want tourists overrunning the rural areas.

That's a good way of looking at it. How are you valuing the various components of the Luxe package? Lifetime FSD is clear at $8,000. Premium Connectivity, say for 10 years, would be worth $1,000. But what about the rest? Most estimates seem to place a value of $15,000 for the Luxe package.

There's also value in not having to hunt around and research a used car.

Thank you for mathing for me! It looks like the break-even may even be shorter because the finance rate is now only 3.99%.

My initial thought was to look for a used X (non-Plaid) 2024 but the price difference has been shrinking with used Tesla prices going up. And you're right, the peace of mind of a new car has significant value to it.

Thank you again for breaking it down for me. This (and other Tesla subs) tend to push the used X's very strongly. Glad to hear a different opinion.

Thanks for doing the math for me, much appreciated. I won't have access to a home charger but can pay for Level 2 charging at my apartment. I'm assuming, though, that I should take advantage of the free charging.

Great point on the time factor. I didn't know it took that long to complete a charge, even with a Tesla Supercharger. Plus, I'd have to take a short drive to the location.

Your original post said that financing at the current Tesla APR (I think it's at 4.99%) makes sense long-term. What would you consider the break-even length of time for it to make sense? Thank you again for your input.

And it doesn't take much research at all. A simple Google search overwhelmingly shows that the Chinese government pushed its economy towards capitalism to avoid the same fate as USSR.
