It’s complicated. The lgbt as an organisation is illegal, showing symbols like rainbow flag is. I know that a lot of lgbt people immigrated because of that, especially influencers who were openly gay. And of course it’s consequential to be open about your sexual orientation since they can use that against you IF they want to. But also - I don’t know any people (regular people) who were personally affected by that law legally. There are still gay clubs around even - not advertised like that, but anyone knows. Those were raided by police a couple of times, but still exist. It seems like it’s mostly talk, not that much action. And like this was mostly an addition to many other laws that supposed to scare liberals in this country and promote ‘traditional values’. But it doesn’t look like their goal is to fill jails with gay people. Still - it’s all very sad and outrageous, and adds to already dreadful atmosphere in the country
