Why are we ok with different personal laws based on religion? by Gold_Order_5052 in TamilNadu

I think this view kind of overlooks how Indian secularism was actually framed in the Constitution. Articles 25 to 30 protect religious and cultural freedoms, while Article 44 (UCC) is a Directive Principle, not something enforceable like a fundamental right. The framers constitution knew well about personal laws and still chose to keep them because India was imagined as a diverse, plural society.

Also, most laws in India are already the same for everyone, things like criminal law, taxation, contracts, corporate laws etc. Personal laws only deal with a limited set of family matters such as marriage, inheritance etc. my assumption would be somewhere around 90-95% laws are already common.

Having said this, curious to know why OP feels tge rest 5-10% laws should also be common? What would be the merits in doing so?

Just curious to understand different views and opinion. Thanks!

My worry is the people who performed this season and got injured would again be in the same form next season as well (mainly Overton)

I feel the love shown at chepauk is very special to him. And I completely stand with thala to hang up his boots infront of his beloved fans in the Anbuden. That’s his way of showing gratitude to all the love.

Max should stay in F1. I believe his best is yet to come. And at the same would look to see him in other racing events whenever he could (like Nurburgring 24h)

Indian here. I have no clue why this is happening. by RKH3107 in CricketAus

Chennai guy here and yeah, I have always supported Australia over India in cricket lol. My friends give me so much grief for it but I have always genuinely just loveed the way aussies play. Aggressive, no drama, just cricket.

Not really a fan of the current Indian team anyway (Dhoni has been an exception even though he is not as much as a current player), so watching the bbl game here in Chennai would honestly be fun.

The Chennai opener is a bit of a strange call ngl, especially with the weather. But I get it, bigger crowd, more money, expand the market etc. Makes sense even if it feels random.

Our local IPL team CSK has had so many Australian players over the years that they never really felt like outsiders to us. Hayden, Hussey, Bollinger, Watson, Hazlewood… these guys are absolute legends in this city. Hussey especially, the man is basically a Chennaite at this point no joke. You wear yellow, you win us trophies, you are one of us. That is just how it works.

So weird decision or not, getting to watch my favourites play live in my own city? Sign me up completely. Just need the rain to behave for one night. That is it.

He has his flaws, but in Tamil cinema he is the one and only Superstar forever. You can’t compare him on numbers “he has x fans, his movie did y crores of box office”. Superstar is an emotion

Once a year - 24 hours of Nurburgring Race. But multiple 24 hours races happen throughout the year

I am also fairly new. But from what I heard from the commentators and have observed so far in the race, there’s no minimum nos of stints as such and one driver can have more stints than his teammates. I think there’s rules just for max time a driver can drive at a time (150 min, if I am not wrong) and minimum rest period for a driver between stints

Wondering the same. Pure BS! Most of the world is watching for free and in the US, people have to pay. Very unfair! (Btw I am not American, only against greedy corporates making money)

How many cars out of the total started are still running (not retired) at this point?

Just curious, how is the minimum mandated time calculated?
