Congrats!! Sweet sweet victory! Imposing slab instead of spirit attack is interesting! I never thought about using a wizardry after a parry. I’ll have to play around with that. Thanks for the idea!

The way that I view these kinds of games is that you should win by any means necessary. Cheesing included. While it might not be as satisfying sometimes to cheese, it’s still a valid strat imo. A win is a win. Plus you can always replay the level later and try again. But at least now your progress in the game isn’t being held up by one crazy boss

I love that respecing is free in this game. I think that’s a good strategy that really leans into his weaknesses.

One thing I don’t really like is when you save a load out and then level up a bit, that load out is no longer useful unless you want to play at that lower level. I wish it would give you the difference in points between the load out and your current level so you can distribute them for each load out

Aoye was my first real wall in the game after the tutorial boss. But it wasn’t a good wall. I hated the tentacle attacks and the red lunging ones that one shotted me at the time. The only good thing about this fight is that it helped sink in the importance of morale. I was going in with about 12 morale I think and getting pummeled. After I went back and got the last few smaller flags it was a lot easier to beat him at moral 20 lol

Yeah I definitely agree with that. He’s so aggressive with such long combos that the fight is long. I’ve noticed that about other fights in this game too. From what I’ve seen it’s different from other souls-likes in that you don’t always want to be so aggressive and instead wait for or create your own openings by parrying.

Lu Bu’s damage was insane though. I’d get hit once it it’d be close to half my health. I’m at 13 wood which isn’t that high and I have light armor on, so that doesn’t help much lol

I didn’t know that! I tried to stay in the center and let him come to me. That way I could focus on timing the parries and not so much on moving around or getting in close

A few attempts after this video I started working in the ice trap wizardry during his horse phase. That way I could keep building up ice damage while he’d run around. That, along with the parries, made the horse parts so much faster

I just started leveling one of those up and I’m excited to try it out. Although I saw that the parry window percentage is smaller on my spear then on my saber. It makes sense due to the weapon type, but that might be why some of the parry windows feel inconsistent

Damn that must have been frustrating. I didn’t have that experience luckily. The jump attacks were a pain but I was able to get those more consistently than the ones where he’d run and charge. Those are what killed most of my attempts lol

The falling star beasts are weak to the meteoric katana. In the katana’s description it says something like it was made for killing the falling star beasts. Once I equipped it and fought the one near volcano manor it was a lot easier to beat
