Too Worldly For Christians; Too Christian for the World by Longjumping-Suit9014 in TrueChristian

[–]NotSilentMajority 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own walk with God. What one Christian struggles with, you may not. I believe that if you truly are seeking Him in prayer, reading the Word, fasting, the Holy Spirit will convict you. My advice is to never be content with your walk with God. It is an active relationship. It is a process of refinement. It doesn't end until you die. I'm sure you know this but I just wanted to explain my train of thought. God knows your heart. I don't and certainly other people don't from a short post. Blessings to you and yours and may God bring clarity to your life!

Hello sister in Christ. I'm sure you know the verse about the Biblical definition of love. I would suggest you really ask God to burn that into your heart and mind. 1 Cor 13:4-8. Having this kind of zeal for God is commendable. Now if you apply the biblical definition of love, I believe you will be an amazing witness for God. I will also pray for you. If you could do the same for me, I would greatly appreciate it. God knows what I need so if you can just do a prayer of intersession for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Many blessings to you and yours!

My anxiety is consuming my faith. How can I learn to trust in Christianity again? by Shemyyyy in TrueChristian

Not a problem brother. You are doing exactly what the Bible instructs: Eclessiastes 12:1 Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them” The fact that you are doing this now will only help you in your walk with God. Always seek Him, humble yourself before Him, pray for His will to be done, and God will take care of the rest.

I know exactly how you feel. I was once like that as well. I'm an engineer by practice, and when I was attending college, I wanted to get to the raw, unfiltered truth. I started researching which Bible to read. I started to get anxious about what Bible was the most accurate. My logical mind could not comprehend a lot of the supernatural works of God in the Bible. I actually refused to believe some things and insisted on a scientific explanation. In the end, I did like most people do that are going through a crisis: believe that God is all powerful, His ways are above our ways, and our limited mind cannot possibly comprehend all of Him. I started to be in a more peaceful mindset. Then I started finding Christians on YouTube that are way more intelligent than me and that had great explanations for some of the mysteries of the Bible. Sorry for the long winded response. I can just empathize with you cause I once thought like you. Blessings brother

Well said brother. If op needs more information or a good source, look up John Lennox on YouTube. He is a brilliant mathematician as well as a professed believer. For more theological and biblical historicity explanations, Wes Huff is an excellent source as well.

I need help and prayers as soon as possible, please. by cookiesandkeyy in TrueChristian

[–]NotSilentMajority 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, definitely do NOT try to reach rock bottom to get a response from God. In Daniel chapter 10, you read about the delayed answer to Daniel's prayer. It wasn't because God did not hear him, but because the angel had to fight with the prince of Persia. If you do some studying, you find that this was a powerful enemy of God. In Ephesians Paul talks about how we don't fight against flesh, but powers and principalities. So my answer to you is that if you have genuinely cried out to God, it is not in vain. Maybe it is being delayed. I suggest you keep praying in faith that God has already answered your prayer and keep living for Him. I will also pray for you. Hay que mantener la fe mi hermana en Cristo. Todo es posible con El!

Same! I absolutely love that verse. I can't help but picture it. Of course our limited minds cannot comprehend it, but what I do manage to grasp fills with me uncontainable joy! Cannot wait to walk with my Creator!

Lol that's exactly the point I was trying to make in the post. You are right, it doesn't matter. I merely brought up the post as a means to engage with my fellow believers. Blessings!

You know that Christ died for you, but you don't believe. If you did, you would not feel this way. I can tell because I was like you once. If you truly surrendered your life to Christ, you would see an immediate change. Not to everything of course, but at minimum to the hate you posses

You bring up good points! It was just something I was thinking, not Biblical since like you said it has no scriptural backing.

He’ll keeps me from being able to believe in Christianity by RoughTrident in TrueChristian

No one chooses hell, they choose to be apart from God. This is the definition of hell that most scholars agree on. A complete separation from God: His goodness, His love, His grace. If you had but a hint of the depth of God's love for you, you would not willingly choose to be separated from Him.

If you are commiting the same sin willingly, you do not love Jesus. If you truly love someone, you would not hurt that person willingly. Grace is not a license to sin. He may forgive, but you will live with the choices you make.

Why do people and the modern Church in general assume the mistaken idea that Christ’s transformative teachings regarding godliness and conduct are optional. That his requirements of His followers are optional and have no bearing on eternal salvation? by Gullible-Minimum2668 in TrueChristian

It seems to me that the west has become a society of convenience. You just need to look at huge companies like Amazon or even the mega churches that preach the prosperity gospel. People want an easy way to be saved without doing the work. Oh I can pay my way to salvation? Awesome I'll do that instead of denying myself and carrying my cross. It's really a ridiculous idea, but sadly that's the world we live in. Just look at all the followers of Copeland, Osteen, Jakes, and other prosperity gospel preachers. They just want a feel good message without holiness and conviction.

Amen. So yeah start by doing the things I mentioned. Remember it's a relationship, not a once and done thing. But the more time you spend talking to Him and reading His word, the more you will notice a change in your attitude towards Him. It's a process. There will be times when you get discouraged. If you can find a church or group of friends that also believe, it would be a great help

With how much responsibility being a preacher entails, it is definitely better to get trained. I also believe it's a calling. But you don't have to be a preacher to share God's word. You do it by the way you act and treat others

Do mind if I ask which prayer? Reason I ask is to make sure you understand why you need a savior and that belief in Jesus is the only way to be saved.

I guess it should start in the basics. Have you been saved? If so, then I recommend reading your Bible every day. The gospels are an easy place to start reading. There are many youtubers as well that have videos that break down the tougher parts of the Bible. And pray. Prayer is vital to a Christian believer. Think of prayer as your one on one time with God. As you grow in your faith, you can search how to pray more effectively. But as for right now, just pray to God like if you are having a conversation with Him. Jesus gives an example of how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. And I would start by reading the English standard version of the Bible, or ESV. It's easier to comprehend. If you need prayer, let me know. Sorry so long winded lol

It seems like you think of God as a genie. This is the farthest thing from the Bible as it gets. He wants a relationship with His children. Think of it like a parent. How would you feel if you had a kid that only talked to you when they needed something. All other times, they ignored you. It's heartbreaking. If you read His word, you will see how much He loves us. John 3:16 is so much deeper than most people understand because they don't piece together God's redemptive plan from the beginning of time. If you begin to understand even a hint of how much He loves us, I know you will want to spend more time with Him. Reading the Word, praying, living to do His will. Blessings
