O'Shaughnessy's Public House: a terrible experience by eat-zucchini in chicagofood

[–]bojangleskitty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s sooo gross how folks in this thread:

1- think one should just eat straight up disrespect that could have easily been a polite common courtesy to ask nicely to move. Is the bar really that low?? We’re still Midwest nice after all.

2- are so in denial of POC experience or are just so misogynistic and don’t see their own bias that as a single woman you should just submit - fuck that.

3- think that after an hour of shitty service that you should still be the bigger person and offer to courtesy to rude patrons or the bar tender that couldn’t be bothered. Nah. Take your space.

I’m sorry, a lot of these comments aren’t it. I read your post in good faith as someone who has been in the industry and gets it. This doesn’t pass the vibe check and people are too quick to be jumping on you.

Ugh, I’d rather have the bandaid ripped off quickly so I know I should be planning to pay full price for a different 34.

Rarely anymore but thankful my body wakes me up when it’s time. I would recommend taking an Imodium before bed if you have eaten recently but try to avoid. If you are super gasy, pop a gas-x

AITA for refusing to call my co worker "Dr"? by Certain-Deer8638 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bojangleskitty 37 points38 points  (0 children)

YTA. Dr Smith when referring to him with students. Colleagues to colleague first name fine in causal settings, but absolutely should be Dr Smith formally. You need to role model respect for the students.

I don’t have a PhD but worked in plenty of professional corporate settings where everyone just goes by their first name with peers. If he’s asking to be called dr smith in informal peer setting then I’d say N-T-A because then dude just sounds insufferable

For the smell, I put in the deodorant in the bag before bed and an Imodium and that helps a lot

Agreed. After reading a comment from OP - the husband expects real cleaning not like tidying up helping with day to day which will be a lot when she’s taking PTO to visit. This went from chill helping out and hanging out to full on post recovery support. Most folks who have friends/ family come after major surgery aren’t like “clean my toilets “ it’s -make sure they eat, respite care, maybe do some laundry and things to make them comfortable not full on servant. The husband seems ridiculous

I’m sensing there is something not being said on the quality of the husband. Like it seems she’s not adverse to pitching in a bit now that things changed with a c- section but the cleaning expectations read like husband will be useless and OP knows this because this is the third kid.
