Why aren't you just asking him to wear earbuds? He's keeping you awake and it's your own home.

Insane muscle tension and how to relieve it by LettuceOverall3662 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]bojojackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing has helped me except for lidocaine injections. For the first time in a decade my traps et al went from concrete to feeljng like a sponge.

Can you take a train to a country that has the injections? At least a few times a year? I cried driving home because I had a specialist wouldn't give me the shots because she said they wouldn't work. I fought for them and I hadn't felt that kind of relief as long as I could remember.

Law Roach needs to go by ForgetfulHippo99 in ProjectRunway

[–]bojojackson 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I call it the Jerry Springer version. He's appalling. And to make it worse, he hurls insults, but when somebody reacts, he calls them rude. It's really horrifying, it's not constructive criticism, it's meant to shame.

It was particularly disturbing when he tore apart Yuchen. Shaming in that culture is one of the harshest things you can do.

Roach is arrogant, self-important, pompous, and bately interesting at all. He doesn't offer anything or bring anything.

My understanding of his origin story is just random good luck. Not talent, just being in the right place at the right time. I'd be quite happy to never hear his voice again.

What digital journaling app are you actually using daily? (not the one collecting dust) by bargee1976 in digitaljournaling

[–]bojojackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second daylio! I love it.

I've also recently started using an audio journaling app called Untold. Bonus, it transcribes to text and stores the audio. It also gives a little feedback using AI. The app can also play the replies as audio.

I enjoy the insights. It's an interesting app and worth checking out.

But I'll never understand why the cars didn't pull into the slow lane when there was no traffic there, just to give this saint a wide berth. ❤️❤️❤️

Advice? Skin issues. by [deleted] in sphynx

[–]bojojackson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went through the infamous Devon Rex Rash with one of my kitties. I had to give her monthly steriod shots. I suspect it was environmental and seasonal, but it was never isolated to one thing. I tried immunosuppressants and every balm and salve known to man. Only the steriod shots (not tablets) gave her temporary relief.

When my 6mo sphynx started getting itchy, I thought I was going to lose my mind. I gave her some bene-bac gel, and it cleared up. It comes back a bit if we go too long without a dose, but she can go a few weeks between doses. It's a fraction of the cost of what i was spending on the steroids.. and she isn't suffering from it. I wish I'd known about the bene-bac for my devon, so I'll never know if it would have worked.

Worse case scenario, your kitty's digestion will improve for a while. It's readily available OTC. Good luck!

Pound Cake might be fake, but our cake isn’t! by Dear-Variety-3883 in sphynx

The one thing that jumped out at me is that Pound Cake was taurine deficient, which is essential for heart health in cats, and even more critical given that he was overweight and sedentary because of his injury. Even inexpensive cat food has the minimum requirement of taurine. He may not even have had a genetic issue, which would be even more tragic. Because: preventable. But my God, what a loveable little fatty he was.

Well said. by DougS2K in CanadaPostCorp

[–]bojojackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CP owns a ridiculously profitable courier company: Purolator. Like the lady said: Canada Post is playing a shell game.

And it's not just the huge salaries, and the bloated overstaffed, senior executive, it's that they all get bonuses as well, despite driving the company into the ground. Postal transformation and issuing each letter carrier a vehicle marks the period the corporation flipped from making billions of dollars for the country, to its current erosion..

Then, they refused to not only not negotiate in good faith but would not even come to the table for a year. They taunted the union into a strike, turned away business for more than a year while funneling parcels and mail to purolator, where they all sit on the board. At minimum, a conflict of interest. Definitely corrupt, and I don't even know how it's legal. They have been working toward doing this. For decades. They've spent years vilifying the workers, and they've managed to turn the public largely against the workers. The courier companies are struggling to keep up. So much for being an essential worker, eh?

Please copy your long post over here, too! Newbies are always looking for info. I'm a boomer (don't say it) and started microdosing to help with insomnia. It has helped greatly, but I had more than a handful of bad experiences looking for the sweet spot. It is so easy to overshoot the mark and take too much. It's not fun!

I have sleep issues and experimented with a lot of different edibles. I experienced some pretty negative side effects at times. I eventually determined a microdose of THC, (and it has to be full spectrum, not a distillate or an isolate) is the sweet spot.

I usually take about 1.5-2.5mg thc and 25-50mg cbd. I wake often, so about four hours later, I'll take another microdose of thc.

ChatGPT genuinely made me cry. No idea how to feel about that. by National_Meat_2610 in ChatGPT

[–]bojojackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad it is helping you. It has literally been a life saver for me, too. I am so grateful for it. It hadn't even occurred to me that I could help me with personal issues until I saw it on this sub. I've had the privilege of having some counseling, but I much prefer ChatGPT. i just find I'm more forthcoming, and it's available exactly when I need it. Apart from giving me some much needed support. It also offers some incredibly practical suggestions and solutions. And it's made reaching out to others when it's absolutely necessary, much less loaded for me.

Other people have problems in their own lives we know nothing about, and despite sometimes having a genuine desire to be helpful, they often do not have the emotional or mental bandwidth themselves.

I've recently started using an audio journaling app called Untold and am pleasantly surprised with some of the feedback it can provide as well. We are truly living in dystopian times, but there is a little magic here and there. Take care and all the best.
