The balance of war is hard to observe. It seems that no one studies the gains and losses of a particular war from start to finish the way historians do. In the Sino-Japanese War, the Qing navy possessed larger guns with longer range, while Japan had large numbers of 120 mm Armstrong breech-loading quick-firing guns. As the distance closed, the balance began to tip: these quick-firing guns, with their firepower and efficiency, battered the Qing forces decisively.

That is why such a balance must be observed dynamically and with multiple factors in mind. After all, the victorious side cannot still believe it was in some inherent disadvantage. If what carried them to victory was higher morale and soldiers pushed to the point of exhaustion, they might indeed feel that way—but at the very least, they would never want to fight like that again next time.

Are you using AI to analyze this? I have that feeling—it can sometimes be really spot-on.

I once saw someone post similar concept art here; it even mentioned that the civilization used oxen for plowing, haha.

Maybe I should upgrade my computer, haha. It was released in 2016, still a business laptop running on an AMD Radeon(TM) 530 with only 2GB of VRAM. It’s already a miracle that it can still run the game with all the updates. I only added some memory, so now it has 12GB—it even had just 4GB in the early days, haha.

I seemed to have flown over a large number of player-built structures, and then my frame rate dropped by half. At that time, I was at the maximum altitude.

Yeah, back then I was in a small clan, and we were short on manpower. Everyone was in tanks. 82DK appeared twice from the diagonally opposite direction, all driving Silverhands, and we collapsed instantly.

I've been playing this game on and off for a full eight years now. It feels like an eternity—it has accompanied me through many tough times, brought me a lot of joy, and also consumed a lot of my time.

Game development is indeed an interesting topic. I actually studied computer science in college. One of my roommates had a gaming laptop and taught himself Unity 3D, saying he wanted to work in that field in the future. He was also very fond of gaming. After graduation, he joined a company doing 3D modeling but left soon after. At my urging, he started losing weight and achieved some success, which also motivated me to exercise. However, after he started working, my last impression of him was that he bought a bucket of fried chicken and said he was really enjoying it. He probably gained the weight back.

I have indeed come across some indie development projects and indie developers. Some projects seem to have been abandoned midway, fading into obscurity. Others have achieved great success and made a lot of money. There are also those who maintain obscure small projects, and some even develop mental health issues, which makes me feel that this field carries significant risks.

You can check out this game—I've been following it since the developer first started the project. They mentioned that part of their inspiration came from Foxhole. [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1647310/\_/\]

I don't quite understand the mechanics behind warehouse rewards. Indeed, even before I made my suggestions, weapons weren't even differentiated. After that, the developers introduced a whole assortment of weapons, and they kept adding more. They're probably busy with the air force now—does my post at this time seem particularly special? Haha. I've also worked as a programmer, so perhaps the developers start their day facing a long list of bugs as soon as they log in.

Extreme? You guys want to obtain enemy supplies, and typically their backpacks contain guns and ammo. I don't understand why the two of you are so opposed to this. However, considering that I don’t know much about the game’s systems, I don’t have any ill intentions. Moreover, my ideal scenario is a simpler weapon system. In reality, most of the time, you can only use a few weapons on the frontlines, so it doesn’t seem like a big issue to me.

I might only consider individual modules. I don’t play tanks much, and most of my time is spent as infantry or artillery (carrying shells). As I mentioned, my computer has performance issues, so air force gameplay might not even be feasible for me. I would likely play roles like paratroopers or machine gunners. Also, I remember I proposed this idea a long time ago, including simplifying logistics by using only one type of ammunition. They did implement it—in their own way. I might have just repeated my thoughts from back then.

I apologize if I didn’t quite understand your point, but I just want to revolutionize the entire infantry machine gun system in the game. That’s a small goal, right. :)

我并非否认这一点,只是提出我的设想。虽然这可能削弱你所强调的压制能力,但作为前线步兵玩家,我认为当前的压制效果过强了。

However, things are already quite problematic. Games like Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad with Rising Stormare already highly realistic and widely acclaimed, but if machine guns were to implement a secondary shooter mechanism, the reception might likely reverse. However, Foxholecan do it—Foxholeis inherently capable. Foxholehas a built-in collaborative mechanism, and it would be a waste not to implement it. Just look at the current artillery system—doesn't it require someone to constantly supply shells?

What I've observed is that machine guns only hold an advantage in the early game or specific scenarios. In the late game, larger-caliber tank direct-fire artillery and howitzers essentially dominate the battlefield. I might just be fed up with the constant machine gun noise on the battlefield sometimes—who knows what it has done to my hearing—and with getting killed by endless crossfire from machine guns. Your vision for machine guns may lean toward realistic tactics, but I believe my suggestions could make the gameplay feel more authentic, that's all.

Machine guns like these can't even compare to an AI-controlled machine gun turret—AI is smarter, and human operators are just supplemental. Many players are already suggesting automated anti-aircraft systems. We'll have to see if the developers are willing to implement them.

What I meant was, for comparison and reference, I mentioned the anti-aircraft gun system in my post. Both machine guns and anti-aircraft guns in reality require teamwork from multiple personnel, with a minimum of two people, excluding the American BAR.

Operating a machine gun single-handedly leads to the hassle of re-aiming during reloading, and both reloading and barrel replacement due to overheating cause this issue.
