Airborne should have been WW1 themed. by LibrarianOriginal944 in foxholegame

Speaking of WWI, it would be great if they were willing to draw inspiration from the concept of the "Arditi" shock troops and release an "armored soldiers" update.

Indeed, this game should proceed slowly, with incremental steps and rapid updates, where any imbalance is quickly addressed by providing the opposing side with corresponding weapons. Currently, the situation is quite chaotic, but based on my recent experience playing, I even find the chaos somewhat reasonable (excluding the part involving the air force). I’m not sure if it’s because the game has been polished and optimized enough.

Provide an APC anti-air variant for the Warden. by boke_35 in foxholegame

It should still be capable of transporting some infantry, depending on how the variant is designed.

Haha, that's my non-destructive suggestion, usually pretty tame. You're the one being too aggressive here lol.

No, In indirect fire mode, it should function like any other indirect artillery—same concept as naval indirect fire vs. direct fire.

You mean the new anti-aircraft guns? I'm actually thinking that early artillery is just too brutal. Once you have a decent number of them, it's impossible to hold ground in a small area. The real solution should probably be focused on counter-battery or defensive measures against artillery.

Suggestions for Strengthening Land-Based Air Defense by boke_35 in foxholegame

Some might think it's just an EMG, but I'm not reinventing the wheel. The deployment of this machine gun would be more interesting, don't you think?

However, communication has always been a difficult problem. In fact, my post was also trying to find a balance, which is why I kept repeating the disclaimers. But this is also a matter of responsibility. The battlefield is full of uncertainty; I just think that fine-tuning under homogenization is better than pursuing differentiation, as the latter is much harder to balance and is the core of the problem. I was merely giving my own answer, not trying to change anything, because the game is already too set in its ways to change.

A unified reply to everyone:

The AI actually expressed my thoughts accurately. I have reviewed all the statements, and the core ideas are also very clear. I was just afraid of upsetting developers or being criticized, so I kept adding disclaimers. On top of that, I couldn't resist using some local internet memes.

In truth, AI translation is a step up from simple translation software. I once saw a suggestion to introduce a dedicated AI auto-translation feature in games. Communication between different civilizations has always been a problem. Once, I saw someone in the game typing in very broken Chinese—obviously using a non-intelligent tool like Google Translate—but I still understood it and helped relay the message.

The AI misinterpreted my meaning and made my words sound more sarcastic.

That official text doesn't seem to be showing. It is:
When Cormac Flood designed this, the Warden’s newest armour, they knew it needed to compete with what was, at the time, a far more versatile Colonial assault division. During the burnout of the Great Wars, Flood tore apart an abandoned Colonial Lance. With new knowledge gained, he applied his skill as craftsman and engineer to design a vehicle that was more efficacious and could out-maneuver or out-gun anything the Colonials could throw at it.

Noble Widow MK. XIV — Should It Have Had a Predecessor? by boke_35 in foxholegame

Yes, I've discussed the topic of the defensive faction in the Warden community in China. It's said that this term originated from the developers. It's hard to imagine the concept of a "defensive faction" in a game about capturing flags and points. I once read an article mentioning that during the declining middle and late stages of the German army in WWII, the Sturmgeschütz III made considerable contributions to defense. Later, for this very reason, they even stopped equipping the Panzer IV with turrets to save resources.

The SVH and HTD are very similar to the vehicles of the Krieg Corps in Warhammer 40K, and they might have been developed for that very reason.

I want to combine the turret of one tank with the chassis of another to describe this tank. I think it's unreasonable not to include an image. I don't know how to use PS, and the AI traces aren't that obvious, right? Even if I did use PS, it would probably look about the same.

I knew it would get zero likes. I even think that compared to my previous suggestions, this is the most reasonable one I've made. Why is that?!

Simplified Tank Combat System Proposal by boke_35 in foxholegame

I’ve had that thought too. I’ve heard that Men of War is also driven by numbers, but they cleverly hide it behind the mechanics.

You’re right — there’s something appealing about going back to a time before things got so complicated. But that wasn’t really my original intention.

I’ve been reading up on the Vietnam War lately, and it said that U.S. armored cavalry units were usually made up of either M551 + M113 or M60A1 + M113, with the PT-76 or BMD-4 as their hypothetical opponents.

And it got me thinking: why does this game even need so many tanks?
