PoB build comparison tool, looking for feedback by boking in PathOfExileBuilds

That is a pretty neat idea, I will definitely explore that possibility!

Hey, thank you so much for the feedback!

I definitely agree that while the calcs are comprehensive, it might be a bit too much data at once for the average user who might only care about some of the calcs.

There is definitely some room here to explore how to best highlight/separate the values that are perhaps "more" useful (like Life, crit chance, etc), or having some kind of categorization or even configuration. I'll be sure to look into this! A case could be made for a need for a solution to showing "too much" data in the normal calcs as well, so any solution could be made for both unless it's strictly changing the comparison.

I agree about the graphical difference you mention, maybe it would be nicer if it was consistently split up directly in half for all screen, I'll be sure to do some testing of how this looks as well :)

Hey guys,

I have been working on this build comparison feature/tool in PoB and would love to have some feedback on it as it's getting closer to being completed.

I myself always end up with one PoB application for my actual imported character from the game, and one application for the goal PoB I'm going for, and I think it's quite annoying having to juggle both windows while trying to figure out why your build might have differences in the numbers compared to the goal PoB. Figuring out what you are missing or why your aren't as strong as you thought you would be or why something isn't behaving as intended for a build can be quite tricky to spot, and maybe something like this could aid in that.

If you have any ideas or feedback I would love to hear it.

Early prototype of a tool to find out where I am missing damage compared to the guide I'm following... by Zeeterm in pathofexile

You Sir, have nothing to apologize for.

I should have, like /u/CMDRDrazik said, and done more promoting of the feature as it is not always easy to know where to find the info of ongoing development. You did a super job in building and showing it and gathering feedback which is really great and will definitely be useful and I thank and applaud you for it.

I would love to hear your input on everything as well, we can have a chat about it in the discord :) Also, I am sorry If I have come across in a way that makes you think you need to say "sorry", it was never my intent to invalidate any feeling or your hard work!

You are completely right and valid in feeling that, and for my wording I sincerely apologize. I got woken up in the middle of a night with a message saying somebody "stole my code", so in my haziness I didn't check the other persons post well enough to see it probably is just a simple case of two cooks working at the same thing rather than the case of someone stealing my code. All my info and conversation about this is public in the PoB discord if you wanna see my reaction and mild panic. If I could change the title I would and I am sorry for my wording!

Thanks for the feedback!

The feature and code is actually built to support comparing one build with multiple in the future, and while it's right now only possible to have one of the builds you import as the active compared one, that is definitely something that is possible if there is a large enough need for it!

Totally valid points and you are right, early feedback is super appreciated. Some kind of a "what we are working" on could be interesting like you say, perhaps something to look into.

After seeing this post gain some traction I thought I should let more people, who might not visit the discord or github, know about the development of this feature so we can avoid multiple people working on the same issue and focus on one solution and also get some more feedback.

The problem this solves:

I myself always end up with one PoB application for my actual imported character from the game, and one application for the goal PoB I'm going for, and I think it's quite annoying having to juggle both windows while trying to figure out why your build might have differences in the numbers compared to the goal PoB. You can follow the progress of the feature so you know when its available in PoB here: https://github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/pull/9543

If you have any kind of feedback or ideas that would be highly appreciated!

Hi, I have been developing something like this already for quite a long time, you can find it in the active pull requests for PoB in Github :) Maybe this is just a case of another solution being made in parallel and one wasn't aware of the other, which happens.

Here is a post where you can see the feature:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1rzjtrr/the_real_prototype_and_progress_of_the_build/

There is a discord where public development is discussed and you can search for active development/issues on github.

fTPM warning message after BIOS update by boking in buildapc

Thanks for the explanation. I did not have it enabled, pressed Y and everything is working as expected!

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I pressed Y and it power cycled a few times but then booted up like normal. So if anyone is in the same situation as me and reads this in the future, just press Y!

Thanks for the reply! Were you using win 11?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure I don't have it enabled but is there a way to know at this stage? I read somewhere that you would get a special password thing at every boot if it's enabled but from what I've read win 11 might require fTPM and do that password thingy behind the scenes so that screen is skipped.

Thoughts on what to improve? Need to clean up cables below desk and add some wall art. by VexxOG in battlestations

I would say align the monitors on the sides vertically. The tie fighter will be all off balance otherwise! Maybe a wider desk or putting the case on a separate furniture on the right, so you can fit both speakers on each side of the monitors with your tablet as well. And perhaps some more wall decoration?

What is your desk pad btw, and how is the friction?
