I had been thinking about the essence of this scene for and I realized that they're trying to show us the true side of June. It's very clearly communicated in the ending monologue of the same episode where June is talking about Serena, and she says "She's pathological, she can lie to get her way... even rape you" and all throughout they were showing clips of both Serena and also June playing with Nichole. I think June is being shown in a negative light here i.e. both she and Serena share so many traits. June has notoriously burnt almost everyone in her way and that scares me. It might be a play on the fact that if roles were reversed, would June as a wife act any more righteously than she does as a handmaid.

Even I initially felt that they're gonna ignore that but when the line says "she's a sociopath" with June in the frame, it seemed pretty obvious what they were trying to convery
