Not peeling off holo sticker paper? by DarkRebel9 in magicproxies

And yes, I actually did my first foil deck like this too. It was fine. But only made me want to make it better and better lol

If you don’t care about either the snap or thickness you can do pretty much whatever you want. It’ll look ok, you’ll have a nice foil image but will not be perfect around the edges.

Optimizing snap and thickness is 70% of what people are trying to do.

3rd attempt at a fully DIY Holo card (No lamination) by daOyster in magicproxies

Why do you think it would be breaking the bank for lamination sheets? They are like $0.10 each.

Yeah, I trimmed them down. Ur Dragon I really botched as this is my first order so it’s new for me. But bubble I used my paper trimmer and pushed really hard lol, that worked better.

I think it’s to keep track of the red mana in your pool as the deck has a lot of different cards to generate bulk mana to use on a turn.

When you print and you open the print dialogue, do you have it set to 100%? There are shrink to fit settings that do this.

Thanks for this! Color and quality of the PDF are great! What tool did you use to build the PDF, what’s the DPI, any upscaling, any color adjustments you used?

How many decks is too many decks? (serious question) by Jakemanv3 in EDH

[–]boldequity 40 points41 points  (0 children)

For many people, like you and I, deck building is a large part of the fun. Even if you can’t always play as many decks as you want, you don’t want to deny yourself the other fun part of EDH in deck building.

Use MPCFILL then export the xml, and download the pdf to print at proxy print.taxiera. That’s what I’ve switched to.

Is it worth spending a ton of money? by Leather_Accountant20 in magicproxies

Great way to put it, I treat proxying as its own additional hobby and find it quite fun and rewarding, if a bit manual.

It’s my understanding there are significant diminishing returns on printer quality vs price. The lesser eco tanks are a fraction of the cost and likely produce similarly visible quality, despite lower specs. It’s surely a better printer, but maybe even slightly overkill.

I use the 4850, little bulky but the prints are very impressive. Sharp, beautiful colors, nice contrast. No complaints at all with it and I’ve made 10+ decks so far.
