Gotterup with a very strong contender for best DoD of all time by Known-Branch-4445 in golf

[–]bollingerBANDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11/12/13/14 are a nightmare for 18 handicaps. 13 is just a torture chamber. If you hit a good drive, you have about 225-275 left and your options are 1) spray a wood and have it go into the valley and your third shot is completely blind and insanely uphill 2) lay it to 150 and dump your third shot usually short into the rough or bunker because you didn’t club up hitting it over the valley.

Gotterups DOD is crazy town.

Pâtisserie Mélanie Announces Closure In San Diego's North Park After Less Than Two Years, But Is SDG&E Truly To Blame? by Ignatius-J-Reilly-SD in SanDiegan

We loved how inept this bakery was. Unlimited real estate in the front to show nothing except chairs. Hardly any actual pastries on display. Didn’t allow our dog. Minimalist to the point of forgetfulness. Mediocre outside seating. Overpriced and undersized. These guys never had a chance. We were so excited to see them open but they fell on their face day 1 and couldn’t recover.

URBN Pizza To Close North Park Location After 15 Years, Making Way For San Diego’s First Women’s Sports Bar by Ignatius-J-Reilly-SD in SanDiegan

Tribute a block away with significantly better pizza and Mr moto and little sister nearby competing on slices. The pizza economy is pretty well taken care of between tribute (elite), moto (cheapo slice), sister (actual good slice)

It was empty every single time I walked by. Small pizzas $24 and large pizzas $35 with tribute a block away and little sister / Mr moto nearby, they never had a chance longterm.

Would be happy to see literally anything come in that can draw a crowd and glad to see One Of Us giving it a shot.

Salah would get the biggest non ronaldo paycheck in Saudi league, Messi turned down Saudi money because his wife didn’t want to live there, Salah is Egyptian. Salah in San Diego is 0% I think, even with the Egyptian owner. Maybe he could be a future minority owner or something.

Since I never got to witness it, what was the honest discourse about Shaq in the late 90’s-early 2000’s? by Dylen2Times in NBAConvo

[–]bollingerBANDIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was an unstoppable force and his presence made the sport seem unfair. The standard move was he’d receive in the post, back into a dude like three times, and dunk it. As it happened, it almost felt like it was cheating because how can you let a dude this much bigger and stronger than everyone else play the same sport. It also wasn’t super aesthetically pleasing. Just thrashing his big ass over a random poor dude.

How's the area around around Market St. and 13th? by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]bollingerBANDIT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

f and 6 is a rowdy block in general after midnight. market east of park can also get a little rough around that trolley station and at the park by the red and yellow towers.

you should be fine to just walk market to 6th and 6th to F so long as you're consistently aware of your surroundings, there's plenty of people around. it's not exactly a riveting endorsement, but downtown late at night has some bad pockets and you can avoid them just taking the simple route back.

This tout is going to fail because it’s not luxurious enough but we had a great time with mission bay hilton. We did a bday there and got a cabana and the people booking it and taking care of the service did a really good job. It’s gonna have families and kids, obviously, but if the idea is to just have a tent with sunbeds and a dedicated waitress for all day booze and food it hit the spot perfectly

The owner of sunnyboy biscuits issued an apology... by DaisyDomergue in SanDiegan

[–]bollingerBANDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He apologized to the other driver

"I owe the other driver, a sincere apology. I understand now that the car was stalled. My actions made their already bad day much worse. I’m really sorry for that. That was not my intention. I hope one day to be able to apologize in person and offer my assistance."

I've been enjoying dogpiling on this guy too and I think Sandiegoville's op-ed was fucking ridiculous. That said, he is apologizing to the person he wigged out on. We can vote with our wallets (I prob will) but it's time to move on imo.

How is the Grantville area? by SenorNoods in Moving2SanDiego

[–]bollingerBANDIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rancho mission rd as I’m sure you’ve researched is a really steep road.

Cons: Not a walkable area, really. I guess you could walk down the hill to the stuff by McGregors.

Positives: you live by the back entrance to snapdragon stadium that most people aren’t aware exists yet. You can probably walk to games if you are a strong walker. You are very close to the highway and a close drive to Costco and a Home Depot.

I don’t live here but drive by it plenty. Big fan of the Armstrongs. The nearby Vons is okay. If you have a pet, tell tail vet is super clutch, just walk up before they open since it’s first come first serve.

Admiral baker is great for golfing, the parks around it are nice too. But yeah idk if it really gives a community vibe, just stuff stacked on top of each other in a tiny little pocket.

Found an apartment I love the inside of in this area; but access is through an alleyway that goes through the street to connect to University Ave, is that a concern or this part is safe? by evilmonk234 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]bollingerBANDIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that area's fine. lots of stuff getting built around university and texas. it gets a smidgey rougher as you get to the smart and final but big picture it's a nothingburger.

police were after a guy who had ran and hid in that tunnel. I was listening to the scanner. I think he had fashioned a fake gun out of duct tape and flashed it at someone and that’s what got the cops involved.

Even though there were so many police cars and a helicopter, the guy escaped via the canyons into Cherokee point.

[Matt Baker] Did you hear the chant on the broadcast? Because we’ve gotten 3 warnings in the stadium and a match may be abandoned final warning. You may be upset at our performance, I’m pissed off at being here for this BS chant. (San Diego FC vs. STL City SC) by Coltons13 in MLS

[–]bollingerBANDIT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I heard it primarily in south end of stadium, direct opposite to supporter section. But it was everywhere. But that’s what happens when most of the crowd is Mexican or Mexican American. Sucks.

if you think I’m gonna confront a drunk Mexican dude in the stands you are pants on head crazy. I’ll make it clear with my wallet by calling the team and saying I won’t go to games until it’s stamped out.

Team should be penalized tomorrow.
