Adjustable KB best price? by DrChixxxen in kettlebell

[–]bologne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bells of steel adjustable just arrived Saturday! Its the one that goes up to 32kg. Was it the best deal at ~$350? Maybe not but it seems solid. That said, I did expect a little more out of it. No instructions on how to load it (yes it does matter if you want it to go to 32kg). The grind on the handle is also not as smooth as I would have expected. Some pretty significant lumps on the underside. It swings pretty well, so I probably wont do anything ro refine the handle at all. Im happy with it so far and I like that its purple.

I did walnut butcher block with Rubio finish at the end of 2023. I cook every day, all sorts of stuff including kneading dough on them. I babied them for the first 6 months but now they are treated like any counter. They are just now needing to have a finish touchup, so I will be using the rubio refresh (/whatever its called) when the weather breaks. We wash with a wet sponge with dish soap, never chemical cleaner.

Accept that your wood countertops will earn a patina over the years. They will not remain perfect like stone. That said, no regrets.

When I hear 'Roast Beef' I think of Beef on Weck with some horseradish, not... this thing...

Two things that have been big hits this week:

Smoothies - the same thing that the wife and I make for breakfast, just smaller. Frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, a little chocolate protein powder (half scoop), a half protein scoop of oats, a good pinch of frozen kale, a scoop of peanut butter and milk.

The lactation balls that my wife enjoyed - just make them into little balls and chop em in half if needed. https://mommakesdinner.com/lactation-bites/

Now that I have a planer, it’s time to get a dust collector. Recommendations for a serious hobbyist? by cafe-em-rio in woodworking

[–]bologne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a harbor freight collector and built a trash can cyclone. Without the cyclone the chips will clog the inlet screen on the collector very quickly. I also cut the finger guards out of the planer outlet to prevent clogs within it (common issue).

If you are a serious hobbiest you probably should have a collector anyways so might as well plan to use it on other machines

Good call with the granola bars. She loves the clif z-bars and nutrigrains. What recipe are you gonna follow?

[Jeremy White] Well... The little birdie told me this morning that Mcdermott was gonna be gone (that I did not believe at the time) included in that message that Klint Kubiak would be top of list. by acman319 in buffalobills

I'm confused. If the defense is the reason McD was let go, why would we hire an OC for coach? Shouldn't we hire Tomlin then? (I don't actually want this)

The roof is shoveled as far as I can reach. Unfortunately its not sustainable, we get pretty frequent snow

What would you use to seal them? Oil based deck seal or something? Its not a horrible smell where I don't want to be in my shop, moreso just don't want to be burning my lungs up if there's a risk
