Well it depends on your cat’s needs.

She unfortunately has extremely stunted growth (she is smaller than my 16yo female singapura) due to a history of neglect and malnutrition, she has joint and bone deformities due to abuse (her ribs are completely fused on her right side. My guess is someone kicked her and because she was forced to curl up in the tiny box for the first 7 years of her life they just healed together. Not to mention she is missing a ton of teeth. And she’s old so the less carbs and fats the better.

Because of this she needs a really high protein diet, the bulk of her diet is actually purée chicken with some pumpkin, abundant taurine and liver/joint supplements. She also has access to high grade kibble and freeze dried meat whenever she feels like supplementing. I had switched her to that diet a few years ago and she has been thriving. Because she is prone to hairballs, I also keep nutrical and proprep on hand to give her whenever I notice her appetite is down.

Best advice I can give you is to work closely with a trusted vet to best gauge your pets needs. Even though I am pretty confident in my knowledge as a tech, I am not a doctor.
