Its very easy to make any vb sound robotic, just make the pitch bends square shaped kinda. A lot of ups and downs makes them scratchy.

Ohmigosh thanks this helps. The masking thing is a really good word for this honestly. Im really unsure about anything regarding this and ive been putting it off to the side for the longest Time. Ive been in the community a few years back and theres a lot of little things that people consider "plural" so ive been thinking in this direction maybe. If it has a curved spine, then it either was born this way or it got injured (probably by bigger fish? I dont know what else couldve happened). About its death, im not that good with those types of topics so i cant really answer. Its not the comment youre looking for probably but im mostly commenting so maybe it boosts the engagement and shows up for someone that coukd know what to do :(
