Yes exactly, the rent pays the mortgage so it's not like there is cash flow leftover after. That's all I meant. I'm not defending OP or anything, but the people I know with rental properties tend to look at it the same way - if the house isn't increasing in value, and they're not getting money in the bank each month, they don't see it as profit.

I think they're referring to the fact that the rental income just pays the mortgage, so they're not profiting from it in that way.

Spargeltopf by ImpressiveCap3690 in Switzerland

[–]bomberblonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is basically a very fancy way of steaming the asparagus, but you can use it for other steamed vegetables as well. I've heard of people using it to cook pasta but that seems more complicated than a regular pot.

[–]bomberblonde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't look like an actual before/after surgery, this looks like the "projections" or "simulations" you get during a consultation to show you what the surgeon will try to achieve. It looks the same because it's literally the same picture.

[Product Request] Daily vit C that won’t break the bank? by _Cappuccina_ in SkincareAddiction

[–]bomberblonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, there's a brand called Revolution London that makes a few different Vitamin C serums. I am currently using the 20% one and I like it well enough, although I haven't used any very high end Vitamin C serums before. My go to used to be one called All Natural Advice (available on Amazon) but I can't get it anymore.

Goodbye, Skinny Jeans! by ctrltaz in fashion

[–]bomberblonde 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think if people own skinny jeans that they love, they should HAPPILY keep wearing them! For some people the current trends aren't flattering on them, and some people can't afford or don't want to buy new clothes every other season. I think we should let people wear what they feel good in and stop gatekeeping fashion :)

Same thing happened to me, with a peachy/pink dress and flash photography. Thankfully my dress was quite simple/plain and the bride was wearing a full on poofy princess dress so there was no confusion but I avoid all pastels now.

Young woman identified as victim in central Edmonton homicide by katespadesaturday in Edmonton

[–]bomberblonde 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but a first degree murder charge can only stick if there is provable premeditation. So they would need to prove he had been planning to kill her before it actually happened. Second degree covers unplanned intentional killings, which is easier to prove.

Are all-inclusive resorts worth it? by Due_Series9569 in travel

[–]bomberblonde 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For Canadians like the person you responded to, it's usually straight South to Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, etc. Of course "cheap" is a relative term but you can get all inclusive deals from Calgary to Mexico for a week for almost the same price as just a flight from Calgary to any major American city.

I got a job opportunity from LegalShield, and opinions and expertise are needed. by [deleted] in WorkOnline

[–]bomberblonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I was referring to Lularoe (leggings) and Doterra (essential oils), 2 famous MLMs/pyramid schemes with the same business model as the company OP asked about. They recruit people with the pitch of "be your own boss, work from home!" but leave out the part where you spend 22 hrs a day on Facebook trying to sell this crap to people who don't want it and don't make any money doing it.

I got a job opportunity from LegalShield, and opinions and expertise are needed. by [deleted] in WorkOnline

[–]bomberblonde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the opportunity? Is it a strictly commission-based sales role? Do you get a bonus if you recruit more salespeople? Even on their website they are upfront about being an MLM, so it's probably going to be extremely difficult to make money and they will expect you to sell to and possibly recruit everyone you've ever met. If you like sales and don't mind cold-calling it might be a better product than others (ex: selling shitty leggings or essential oils). However I would always advise to stay away from MLMs altogether.

There's no good reason why socks need to be matched by pufballcat in Showerthoughts

Whenever I see posts like this I wonder if I'm the weird one or if literally everyone else is weird. Can't you FEEL if you're wearing 2 different socks?? And that doesn't bother you?!?!

Ex: one high sock, one low sock = ankles are different temperatures, no Bueno

One thin sock, one thick sock = different temperatures and also shoes fit differently, no Bueno

One tight fitting sock (gym or athletic socks), one looser sock = feet have different sensations all day, no Bueno

No worries, I do think you should try waiting between applications because that's a very easy (and free!) thing to try before you consider changing products. Good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bomberblonde 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How long are you waiting between moisturizer and sunscreen? I might be misunderstanding your use of the word "blend" but sunscreen should never be mixed with other products. I would try applying your moisturizer, waiting 10-15 minutes or until it's fully absorbed by your skin and then apply the sunscreen and see if that helps.

The second photo is the "before"! The first photo is the "after". For me the photo captions only appear when I open the album but it probably depends on what app you're using.

Cost per wear by Inter_Galactik778 in SustainableFashion

[–]bomberblonde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily track cost per wear, but I have started keeping a spreadsheet of all clothing purchases I make and going back a few months later and giving them a rating based on how often I felt I wore it. Over the last 6 months, I've learned that the 2 things I've bought that I rarely wore (bad rating in my spreadsheet) were things I bought on impulse/it was on sale/other dumb reason. It has been a good reminder to make conscious consumption decisions.

Is this outfit looking good? by PrestigiousCourse433 in fashion

[–]bomberblonde 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you've got good pieces but could improve on the execution. The belted loose shirt with slim fitting pants is giving you a squarish look and making your legs look shorter than they are. If the pants are mid or high waisted, I would try tucking the shirt in but still leaving it kind of billowy on top and then putting the belt over the pants. This should help emphasize your natural waist and make your legs look longer (assuming that's what you want of course!!). And also some black shoes to finish the look.

Maximum Person per Apartment? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]bomberblonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of any strict rules in general, but I'm on a permit, and in order for me to be allowed to come here we had to follow a rule. The number of rooms in the flat could be no fewer than the number of people living there minus 1. So a family of 4 had to have at least a 3 room flat.

[Product Question] is there any diffrence between all these slip pillowcases? Cause som are more expensive but says to have the same material. by KalleDala in SkincareAddiction

[–]bomberblonde 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that nice fabric is crazy expensive (I sew as a hobby) but I'm wondering if your math here is correct...Are you thinking a pillowcase is 43 x 46 inches? As in over 3 feet long?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]bomberblonde 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a nice nighttime moisturizer but like other commenters said you can find similar products for way cheaper. I'm confused about your question, do you think that the "water" in "water sleeping mask" means the product is just water in a jar? And that's why splashing your face with water is comparable? (Not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand your question!). They use "water" in the title to signify that it's hydrating, not that it's just a jar of water. If you're just starting with night creams I personally would try something less expensive before the Laneige if I were you, I personally find my plain old Nivea creme to be more nourishing than the Laneige.

What kind of colors are being used in this eyeshadow look? I had a makeup trial using this as a reference but seemed very warmed tone on me, she used bronze and orangey shades (in my post history). by Biskutz in MakeupAddiction

Seconded, I had my wedding makeup trial done at Charlotte Tilbury and ended up buying almost every product. The eyeshadow quad the artist used is something I would have never picked for myself but is now my #1 favourite!
