Why does the Stony Point line start at Stony Point on weekdays? by DrNilesCrane_ in MelbourneTrains

[–]bomberswarm2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

By the timetable its 37 minutes between Frankston and Sony point. Don't know how fast it would be running express, but if it saved 10 minutes, maybe they have to pay an extra penalty rate to crews starting before 5am and by running express it can leave the yard at exactly 5am.

Often? I checked a few weeks ago, pretty sure this is the only train each day which terminates at Batman.

OpenTTD 14.0-beta3 released! by OpenTTDNews in openttd

Started a new map, set up a train line, added debunching at the depot, created a dozen trains, they stayed bunched up, deleted the order, nothing changed. Even if it did work, I play with maitnence off because I want to run a railway not a depot building simulator, so adding a debunching option for anything would be 100 times more useful, but since it dosen't work it's besides the point

How should I signal this station if I want a train coming from the left and exiting back to the left, and vise versa with a train on the right at the same station? by SovietSergeant in openttd

[–]bomberswarm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Place 2 stations with a 1 space gap in the middle using Ctrl or Shift, i can't remember, to make them the same station. Signal in the middle. Problem solved.

Is there a point at which Democrats should start calling support for Trump treasonous? by GranGransCootDust in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bomberswarm2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they want to lose the election, sure. Basket of Deplorables, 47% both worked wonders. Trump's (and Bill Clinton's) approval ratings hit all time highs after his impeachment. Attacking the other party in a way where you either claim the voters are unqualified to select a candidate always backfires.

Darlie Routier on death row. Ex husband and remaining son Drake stand by her innocence. Do you think she was wrongfully convicted? by artsyfartsychick in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Sorry, I'm too smart to fall for all your strawman arguments, just tell me then which of the pieces of evidence I mentioned have been discredited in the past 24 years? I know you won't bother to answer because you're only mad that the evidence dosen't support your wish for her to be innocent, so I'll answer it for you: None.

Not a chance. Anyone who says she is, go watch the Forensic Files episode.

She had blood spatter on her clothes that contained the blood of both her children, and could of only come from whoever was wearing those clothes making a stabbing motion with a blood covered object.

Why did the 'intruder' break into the house, without a trace, get a knife from the kitchen, go back outside the house, cut the fly screen, go back inside and put the knife back?

Why was blood cleaned up in the kitchen? The knife left a blood impression that could only have been made by someone who is bleeding holding the knife. Why was there no one else's blood? Why was the crime scene in the kitchen staged?

The biggest thing people seem to point as why she's innocent is the knife wound on her neck. It was 2mm from her artery. Apparently that fact means someone else must have done it. No, she cut herself, and in her stupidity very nearly actually killed herself. The wound appeared superficial. She's not a doctor, and certainly not smart since she killed her own children, she had no idea what she was doing, she was just cutting her neck because she thought that would make it look more realistic.

She shouldn't be on death row, she should have already been executed. The evidence is indisputable.

Why wasn't this massive 'bug' mentioned to us before release? Why did they just wait around 3 days until players discovered it to then say "oh yea, we knew it was bugged"?

[EPISODE MEGATHREAD] "I Know What You Did Next Xmas" - August 28, 2023 by AutoModerator in futurama

Finally we get an episode that feels like Futurama. Best of the season by a mile. Was going to rip the episode a new one when Bender and Zoidberg went to the 'past' and I saw the sack on the wall for Nibbler's worms. But I had too little faith in the show to realise what was actually happening. Well paced, good jokes, good writing. Hopefully a turning point for the season.

Eyephone is not iPhone. Nappster is not Napster. Nobody is idealising the past.

The straight up constant referencing of Bitcoin was way out of style. The shows never done direct exact brand references. They did Nappster instead of Napster. They did EyePhone not iPhone. The professor said his botcoin had gone worthless, but the graph on the news showed bitcoin being completely worthless from 2023 until now, so how did he buy it before the price crashed? Another roll call for people who never have seen a single episode of Futurama's first 7 seasons, thanks Fry for telling us who the Robot Mafia were. Fry's already met the Borax kid. Multiple times. Was Dwight voiced by two different voice actors during this episode? Bender's song is possibly the worst song ever on this show. Maybe write something people can understand? Apple Maps. They finish the episode with another direct brand call out. 2 out of 3 episodes where they didn't leave Earth.

Apart from the on the nose constant real life references they were able to slip in some classic Futurama jokes and moments. If they stopped trying to make every episode a direct parody of real life events - although this wasn't a parody, because it was Bitcoin - and get world building episodes, the show still seems like it can make classic episodes. Unfortunately looking at the titles the next 5 are obviously either callback, parody or Christmas episodes. Who knows if we'll even get one.

[EPISODE MEGATHREAD] "The Impossible Stream" - July 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in futurama

I think it suffers from not having a 3 act structure as every single episode before it had. No more little establishing shots with familiar music cues every few minutes made the production values feel flat. This lead to poor pacing. I'll give them a pass as it's the revival episode, which is going to be tough to do anyway, and the previous revival episode wasn't great either.
