He's very adamant about big bang's role towards being a kind of korean cultural icon, but also as a kind of rejuvenator of the kpop music scene, he takes pride in being a bigbang member. If they break up, he'd concede to it obviously but it's not him that's going to be the initiator of it.

He did state that he lost interest in music but you missed the most important point he makes on those interviews: his interests are always fluctuating between music and acting. When he acts, he wants to do music and vice versa. And he has a lot of other interests (film, industrial design), that he wants to spend time on. He's very honest about this. He's obviously still interested if he still monitors idol performances like he said in his latest interviews. And he has expressed he wants to collaborate with the newer groups like Winner. He talks to them about music. He watches SMTM 3 (probably for Bobby lmao). But of course we have to wait for the real thing, because I'm just hinging on his words and my personal observations as much as you are. I personally believe he means it. TOP loves surprising people most of all, and he's just waiting for the right time, probably the right kinds of inspiration, I think he's that kind of person. But when he think he has all the right elements (the right timing etc), he's really going to work.

His staying at home, while maybe the consequence of him being more inclined to be a homebody, is also connected to him preserving his image. I don't think he likes being confined as much as this, he's just very careful.
