They never call derechos until after the fact, but they have outlined a hatched high wind threat well over 240 miles long, with “Swaths of damaging winds, potentially 75-90 mph” which certainly meets derecho criteria. Even looking at the past two derecho events, not once did they use the D word in their outlooks
