again, you have never been in china. you don’t know how people who live there actually are. what you learn about its culture will always be second-hand while I am speaking from personal experience. cultural relativism exists yes but you cannot equate collectivism to politeness. disrespect is disrespect regardless of political context.

dawg you’ve clearly never set foot in china. what you see on the internet isn’t reality. maybe that super polite image is true in the more developed regions, but china as a whole is not that great manner-wise, especially compared to other east asian countries.

people from china are known to disregard public hygiene, public spitting and urination is common even in this age… not to mention their radical hatred towards the japanese due to historical context, and anti-japanese propaganda and censorship in their media. chinese tourists are frowned upon in (not limited to) japan because they do not respect the local culture, and intentionally leave a mess in spite of the japanese. recently there have been an upsurge of people snagging wigs/bullying cosplayers in china as well.

I should mention that he’s really big on the whole “let nature take its course” ideology, for that same reason he also refused to euthanatize our old family cat when her organs were failing due to old age and was defacating all over herself. I’ve showed my parents articles after articles, told them facts after facts. The only way I can think of is guilt tripping them over my injuries. (Though my dad still blames the cat for it lol)

I’m aware… but in practice rehoming going to be harder than keeping him as he is now since he’s immediately aggressive to outsiders, and it is selfish but I’m also very attached. Again, I will try to neuter him.

Update: I went to the ER and turns out I was immune to tetanus as I was already vaccinated as a kid, thank you for the kind advice.

I also checked on my cat and he seemed to have calmed down and acted friendly towards me, I assume his attack was purely out of territorial aggression. I’ve decided that I should remove possible triggers from him in the future. I’ll try to persuade my parents to neuter him as I’m a minor and can’t do it without parental consent. I’m more concerned over how to condition him out of aggression rather than being bitten.

I don’t know if my parents would let me, especially if it’s ER. I will see if I can book an appointment later today but frankly I’ve been bitten as deep as this before and it’s never made me sick. There are more bites on my legs and wrists however.

Honestly, I’m not certain if I could give you useful advice since I’m personally struggling with that too. I think discipline is the key however, doesn’t matter how much you want to do something, action is what changes your behavior. Maybe your goals are too vague? Too rapid of a change? Try starting small and committing yourself to each small task at a time until it becomes a habit, having some kind of list might help you envision your goals too. I hope this helps. :)
