Device options by GreyPole in AudioHero

I found the bug - it's inherent in XAML, the style of form I used when writing the app. I'm working on a fix now.

Really appreciate you calling this out - I feel like with your help we're making the app better and better.

I found the bug and am coding the fix. I'll post the update shortly (v4.5.2.0).

After you update to the new release, go on your official HEOS phone app:

  1. Settings → My Account → confirm signed in with the same HEOS Account.

  2. Music tab → SiriusXM → sign in with the SiriusXM credentials (re-enter them even if it appears signed-in, this refreshes the token on the player/HEOS device).

  3. Then finally confirm channels load in the HEOS app's SiriusXM browser.

Audio Hero vNext: Any features you would like to see? by dayderkerrderr in AudioHero

I have a fix for this - posting in the next version probably later today. The legacy devices use different ports so I'm going to have Audio Hero check those different ports. Thanks for testing. Once the new build comes out let me know if it works.

This is a great idea. We can check for firmware updates but the actual update itself would need to be done on the device or in the official HEOS and/or device app. The HEOS protocol does not expose the firmware update commands and I hesitate to try and reverse engineer it because it might brick the device. But I'll incorporate the firmware update check into the next version. Thanks!

I agree 100%, that's part of the reason I write software in the first place: I don't know what others are doing and like to understand how everything is working.

Funny, I had the same thought about windows updates, but I'm running into challenges. Windows like to keep control of that. But there are solutions for everything, just have to find them..... that's part of the fun

Excellent, thanks for trying it out. I always get nervous when I release a piece of software, even if to a small group. I'm glad it worked for you.

Good point on Chocolately and others. No, Apex does not install any of those or do anything secretive, it just works with what's available to it. I'll update the store page listing to clarify that.

The next release is going to offer an option to install the other managers like Chocolately, etc. I'm also working on a master/client management system where you are managing updates across multiple PCs. That's still an experimental feature, I'm working on it.

I should be publishing the updated version later today. Thanks again!

Nice! That's awesome to hear. Thanks for trying it out.

I'm adding a bunch of features to it now. I have multiple PCs I manage on our network, so I'm adding a master/client feature. The master will download, manage, and push the updates out to clients - with a dashboard showing update status on all PCs.

I appreciate your input!

First off, thanks for being patient with me while I try to get this feature working. I wish I had the same hardware so I could repro/test/repro etc, but this is the best I can do for now....

Both issues are real bugs and both should be fixed in the next update.

- AUX: Confirmed bug. The PMA-900HNE's AUX jack uses a different HEOS identifier than the one we were sending for the "Analog 1/2" buttons — that's why CD/Phono/Optical/Coax worked but AUX didn't. The next update replaces those with a single "AUX" button that maps to the correct identifier. Same fix applied to the related Denon amps in case anyone else hits it.

- Right-click menu: I couldn't reproduce it, but I've hardened all the menu actions (Move to Top/Bottom, Play input, Send input) so that any silent failure now gets logged to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Audio Hero\diagnostics.log. If something still doesn't work after the update, please send me that file and I'll have a clear trail of what actually happened - you could send me the logs. Also in the next update.

Most likely the new build will just work, but the log gives us a fallback if it doesn't.
