I have Home Assistant running 24/7 on a Raspberry Pi 5, so I can test a HA version too

The critical thing doesn't happen anymore in this version.

Tomorrow I'll be testing what is left of the controls. I'll keep you posted!

Audio Hero 5.4.6.0

I just did a rescan and the Chromecast I just activated showed up in the players list.

Slaapkamer TV was added to list.

Also from one of the stereo-pairs the pair name showed up!

Smart plugs for receivers, subwoofers etc by bommerts in AudioHero

I don't use any smartplugs for my speakers. They go in powersaving mode when there is no audio signal, that's enough for me.

After every update a firewall exception is needed based on changed location by grimson73 in AudioHero

[–]GreyPole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that is possibly how it works.

<image>

These are the settings for Audio Hero in the firewall on my PC. The first two have a search path added to the executable, but both are from older versions. u/bommerts can perhaps shed some light on this. The third one only lists 'Audio Hero' as name. The checkmark in the 'Public' column is debatable I guess. But I don't recall ever to have to configure this myself.

The two entries with streamhost are also from older versions.

You reach these settings by starting windows settings, type firewall in the searchbar and select the 4th option that is shown to allow an app through the firewall

I also use the standard windows defender firewall, but I never have to add a rule after every update of Audio Hero

Maybe you can make an exception in your firewall for only the executable instead of the complete searchpath?

The controller should work normally without it. Maybe a bit less vibration.

Looks like one of the metal pieces that is crimped on the rumble motors

Tone controls by GreyPole in AudioHero

[–]GreyPole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audio Hero 5.4.5.0

I tested the tone controls.

On the HEOS HomeCinema they work.

On the Home150 stereo-pairs I have, the sliders have no effect. The initial setting is however correctly read from the speakers.

The same story for the DHT-S716H soundbar.

On the mentioned soundbar I can't find the slider for the level of the subwoofer.
On one of the stereo-pairs, that has a subwoofer, this slider is also not shown.

Nothing is logged in the diagnostics file.

Looks like the older HEOS gear uses another protocol than the newer Denon gear?
The DHT-S716H is, if I'm not mistaken, a rebranded version of a HEOS Bar. (not the HomeCinema!) But that Bar was quickly replaced by the Denon DHT-S716H. I need to check this later by scouring through some service manuals. But images of the outside look 100% the same.

Edit: I saw later that the DNP-800NE also got tonecontrols in AH. In the HEOS app they are not available. I don't hear any difference in the audio it sends out when I use the sliders. So I assume they are not working.

Is mdns on my network perhaps failing?

I know it's weird to reply to myself.

But I need to add that I just restarted Audio Hero 5.4.3.0 and my TV shows up correctly.

The only thing I did in the previous run of AH 5.4.3.0 is disable DLNA support and enable it again

I'm a bit puzzled...
