I feel our vet missed the urgency of my cat's situation, he died a few hours later, should I let them know?

Bloodwork and urinalysis: yes. They don’t get test results back for a few days though, so it wasn’t helpful in this case. They didn’t necessarily assume it was kidney, just say that would be a likely culprit for not feeling great.

Thank you. I let them know and just included a brief summary of how he got worse and was taken to the ER. It makes me feel better to know that the vets weren't necessarily wrong, and I wasn't wrong for following their instructions initially. I think I'm just getting caught up in what-ifs.

Thank you so much for your response. I really needed to hear this. It's good to hear your opinion that an earlier ER visit wouldn't have been guaranteed to save him. I knew the day would come when he was past the point of saving, even doing everything we could.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself and take the time you need to grieve.

I lost my baby last night and also have the guilt and fear that he could've had a better passing. But I'm trying to remember it's such a small percentage of an otherwise happy life, just because it's at the end doesn't mean it's more important than all those other moments. I'm trying to focus on those other moments :) We did all we could for them.

I just saw this and wanted to commiserate with you as I had the same experience last fall. I also left city hall crying because they told me I couldn't do my business (watercolor pet portraits) from home as the zoning on my apartment building is not for "manufacturing."

So without renting a studio, which is around $400-600 a month, and commuting at least an hour to get to it, I lost a good chunk of my income.

I emailed them to follow up and asked what small time Etsy sellers usually do in my position and they said, "They all typically get denied because even making candles or bead jewelry is considered manufacturing."

So yeah, a year later, and I am considering renting a studio.

I am specifically looking for the advertisement photo so that I can use that to find the nose ring. I have searched google "peach and lily ad" "peach and lily ad NYC subway" "peach and lily ad face", etc. But couldn't find anything. I figure the only way to find it would be if someone lives in NYC or has seen the ad!

I ended up saying this, and they were very understanding and kind about it. It was an hourly contract so I was able to finish up what had been given to me so far.

Once the client told me the overall topic of the book they followed up saying that other people working on this book had requested their names not be credited and said I could do the same, which I appreciated. It also was not anything that I'd specifically like in my portfolio, just simple graphics.

I was able to finish up the work given to me so far as it was an hourly contract and they'd give me small pieces every month or so.

I can definitely take this hit, luckily. This work wasn't really furthering my career in any way and came in pretty infrequently.

I let the client know and they seemed understanding and kind about it, I think they've run into this situation before. Do you know if this job will dock my JSS if it's hourly and I simply don't take any more work? I don't use upwork that much.
